• "Lily?"
I groped around carefully with my hands until my eyes became acustomed to the dim lights of the cellar. To my right, there were many boxes, labeled with names I did not know ; most likely the names of other orphans, like me, who had never come to retrieve their belongings before moving away to live with their NEW families. On my left, there was a boiler, one of the three that kept Bayside Orphanage warm. And in between the two, there was Lily, the resident half-fire demon. Lily was my best friend here, the only family I had. No, she wasn't my REAL family, the one that had left me here and fled oh-so many years ago. She was more of an..... extended family. I stood there, scared out of my pants. Suddenly, Lily slipped. The match flem in the air, and lit the wood walls of the old orphanage. " The basements on fire!" Lily screamed with delight. I was already scrambling upstairs when a flaming beam of wood fell, blocking the basement. I stood frozen. Lily was still in the burning room. I shrieked as another beam of wood, then another, casscaded down, locking Lily inside...
