• Venture to the tower block,
    Where Golden sings and sighs,
    Searching through the mirror,
For the one true love confined.

    “Search the mirror,
    High and low,”
    The golden woman sings.
“Let no-one in the mirror know,
    The loneliness this brings”

    Thin in mighty mirror’s glow,
    The sorrow that she sings,
The love she finds and trust she needs,
In one small glimpse she sees.

She threw a letter from the room,
In the words from here she sings,
So, sweet and sore her words would be,
So in his head they ring.

From out the window her words will float
    Searching from tree to tree.
    The golden woman’s lonely wish,
    Will reach his lonely heart,
    His worries will be lifted,
    By the golden’s gracious harp.

And hear the words the golden sings,
    “Let truth and justice find,
The one who owns this heart of mine,
    And comes with golden ring”

    The love that ran,
    From heart to heart,
    Shook deep inside them both,
    Her from lonely window pane,
    And him from lonely hearth.

    “Her face is dear,
    Her heart is pure”
    Cried love to golden’s ring.
“If only I had heard her first,
When first she starts to sing”

Then from her room a crash was heard,
    Where Golden lay down dead,
The mirror that had stayed above,
    Had fallen to her bed.

    And there she lay,
    While Love, he mourned,
The death of the golden girl,
    “Let in her death,
    Let peace she finds,
    Not be from this world”
