• He feels all alone
    this boy of fifteen
    his parents arent home,
    no where to be seen

    he lives in despair
    when they come around
    drunk and not there
all he sees is the ground

    he lives in fear
    with each passing day
    begging God
    that he finds a way

    Soon it comes,
    this simple way
    a bundle of flesh
    came home that day
    Sister by blood
    daughter by choice

    He cares for her
    calms her cry
    takes all the abuse
    his parents dont understand why

    a year has passed
    his body is weak
    yet his devotion of love
    is not as meek.
    the broken bones
    bruises, scars and cuts
    he takes them all
    and steadily falls
    yet when they go
    for that little girl
    he stands in the way
    strong and tall

This deadly night is not the same
for the parents decide to play a twisted game
to see how far he will go out of love
a knife is thrown at the innocent dove
without a second thought he is in the way
the blade hits home and there it stayed.

    He coughs up blood
he knows that he is done
    but he still refuses
    to have let them won

    He grabs the girl,
    he starts to run
He holds her in one arm
    he writes with the other

    He runs to a hospital,
    he runs inside
    he finds a young lady
    and hands her the child
he smiles as a tear falls from his eye
    there he had layed,
    and there he had died.

On his arm where he had wrote
he wrote his story, he wrote his hope
and at the end was a personal note.

"To my sister, my child, my friend. I am sorry I couldnt be there till the end.
You are the essence of my love, my hope, my wish, my dream.
Before you I had no purpose, you gave me life.
    I thank you, little one
    My time has come,
but know that I will watch you from heaven above
and sing you a song, my sweet little Dove."

From the heavens above tears fell from the sky, for when they found out,
    all began to cry
Sadness and sorrow covered their soul
For this boy had paid the ultimate toll.
