He stood there before the laughing crowd
performing tricks which baffled most people.
I watched him land hazardous moves flawlessly;
How much work does it take to learn such skills?
He juggled pins as he balanced himself on a unicycle
and skipped over his rope on an unstable plank.
His biggest trick was not to be performed,
and certainly not intended, but still I was dispelled.
I watched the magician laugh as a dove was revealed from thin air.
I saw passed the tricks and behind his make-up
and I was swallowed by the truth;
Life is not all that it's cracked up to be.
Is this what is to become of me?

- I like your effort. But watch out that you're writing poetry, not prose. Take out some words to make the meaning ring and so that the lines aren't so long and meaningless.
