Part II:Repentance
I am just sitting here, on my knees,
being eaten alive by this dark disease,
Biting my nails, face covered in sweat,
Dealing with this insurmountable regret,
Of wrongful actions, most severe,
Thoughtful logic, I did not adhere,
A fractured reality, out of nowhere,
Conjuring up this pathetic nightmare,
Every piece hammered into place,
the broken puzzle a complete disgrace,
But it is a masterpiece in my eyes,
Of anger to ones I so despise,
But all of these "truths" were fake,
My dreams are drowning in the lake,
Of twisted stories, dementia rise,
Hoping the spirit heals before the body dies,

*makes a face* I can't help but picture a child, sullen and repentant for its actions whilst reading this. Reminds me of that old nursery rhyme...something about a boy sticking his thumb in a pie and pulling out a plumb or something.

- Oh my. Once broken, i don't think the spirit ever fully heals. But maybe I'm wrong. Hopefully I'm wrong. I love this poem, as always. 5/5
