I am from my family, never to be without
I am from my memories, crystal clear and stout
I am from my grandma,
forever may she live on
I am from my Nonni,
forever here but gone
“My family is all my life”, a phrase ill never forget
For every time a tear was shed, loving with no regret.
I am from my redhead, her house a home from home
Mas, my fierce companion, never to sleep alone
The stepping pads of DDR,
in our own personal castle
The security guards and all the Red’s,
always giving us a hassle
We’re different in our own, but all the same with laughter
Their double takes and second glances, the craft we all have master
I am from the mountains, the trees, the rivers, the leaves
Dust blowing behind me, faster than one may perceive
Stars laying in the sky, filling my soul as they wink
Gazing upon the heavens, trying my all not to blink
The Delta is my vacation, year to year I go
Winding, twisting, curving, going on in sew
The lullaby of the creek, is a haven I call mine
Watching the water go, the bubbles and the brine
The places that I am, the places I can be,
are all the places you have heard
and the places yet to see.
