Broken

• Description: The final poem in the trio written after my friend's break up. I actually posted them out of order though . . . I wrote this one first . . . But I couldn't find it, so I posted the second first, the third second, and the first last. This is how she was feeling RIGHT after the break up. The other two were written later, when she finally stopped wanting him back and realized he hadn't been worth it in the first place.

Forever and always
To have and to hold.
Wrap me in your arms
And never let go

But you dropped me, babe
To he pits of despair
The place that you promised
You'd never make me go

You promised always to be there
But where are you now?
I'm crying.
I'm bleeding.
And you can't seem to hear me.

I'm screaming your name
Begging for help
So why can't you see me?!
I'm fading away
No reason to live.

Why did you leave me?
Was it something I did?
You're still the world to me
Does that mean anything?

I'm broken and bleeding.
I'm crying and screaming.
Why does my heart
Have to hurt so much?

Why do
I miss you?
When the reason I'm hurting
Is you loving and leaving?

So, broken and bleeding
Crying and screaming
I'll hold close your memory
Since I couldn't hold you.

I'll pray
That one day
You'll love me
The same way you used to.
