I've gained a scar with every passing,
All past loves had a price.
An alteration to my imagination,
With nothing to suffice.
Each story had an ending,
But there was always another to tell.
The only thing the same is that I remain,
Dusting off from whence I had fell.
The mind is a peculiar webbing,
Spun from wisdom and emotion alike.
It has many own ails from hope to tall tales,
But has bad tendencies to spike.
You can go from happy to hopeless,
From loving to settling in woe.
But I've learned from the past some things shouldn't last,
But I'm still learning how to make it so.
So sure, love's been known to distort me,
And the distortion ruins the next lover.
I think I learn from my mistake every blow that I take,
But I learn the wrong thing every time I recover.
I take what I thought I had learned,
And apply it to the next.
I'm still always to blame though the mistakes aren't the same,
And I always become seemingly vexed.
I always become distraught right after,
But I have time to live down the pain.
And so I gain a scar making love seem not so far,
Tis why every scars' passing's a gain.
