• I remember walking through the snow
    The crunching beneath my feet
    I walked farther but also,
I had realized our unavoidable defeat

The bullets, they whistled past my ear
The guns were low on ammunition
The bells tolled, death was near
We could all tell, just intuition

I heard the clicks and pings of rifles
The clanks of swords and bayonets
I jumped for cover behind the barrels
We saw the our escape inside these jets..

    My troops saw our defeat
The death toll was high, none cheered for joy
I saw men die, slaughtered in a heartbeat
    I saw a child's corpse holding a toy
    -War is a terrible place-

We shot at the enemies, desperate to escape
They looked no happier than my allies
I saw my men board the planes, then a loud scrape
I saw the jets crash and explode, heard the men's cries

We had to deal with the enemies closing on our rear
I pulled out my M14 and Shot into the crowd
Bullets tumbled through Mason's head and out the ear
I threw a grenade over my cover, killed many but I wasn't proud

    Many died on both sides
    Until there was a surrender
I rushed to their side with several long strides
One man was screaming, a bleeder

They begged us to quit, but we pulled out our guns
Shot's rang out, gore splattered on the walls
These deaths meant the death of millions
This was the first fight, many more will fall

You might say that we didn't lose
But when people fight, no one wins

I remember walking through the snow
    The crunching beneath my feet
    I walked farther but also,
I had realized our unavoidable defeat
