I hold the key
I hold the key
I hold the key
This key, this key
What does it unlock?
I stare down at it in my shaking hands.
Silver
Copper
Solid gold
It was a metal I had never seen before
And will never come across again
Given to me by an angel.
An angel
Was it an angel?
Angels wouldn't hurt me like this
I wasn't stabbed, nor shot, nor broken, but I was still hurt
I was conflicted
The possibilities, oh the possiblilities, the options were killing me
The key
The key
The key to a heart
Who's heart? Not mentioned.
The key to someone's heart
But I don't know who's heart has the right keyhole.
Who's heart?
Who's heart?
Who's heart?
So much thinking, but who said love was easy?
Love has many keyholes
But my key has yet to find the right lock...

Description:
I love this poem. I was just on my bed one day, listening to "Coming Home", and I thought about how many people could possibly be my perfect match.
This story has a moral: Never stop looking for the right lock for you key, and if you settle for a lock that's not right, it will get jammed. That should never have to happen. ~DF~

- I really enjoyed this poem. Not only was it unique, but also easily held my attention, easy to follow, and more importantly I could relate to it. This is a very well done poem. smile
