in every word I've chosen to use
I've presented with much reason and thought
the definitions of the words I choose
fitting with the precision I've sought
they nest together without flaw or fail
I mean exactly as I say and write
for not every phrase needs a skulking veil
so don’t tell me my language is trite
not every subject denotes of greatness
or may boast any qualities thereof
to encrust trash with diamonds is heinous
not every crow should be praised as a dove
a poet's words are meant to entice but...
the form before me is no more than nice
