The Tick Tock
The clock ticks, tick tock.
Each tick is like a beat of my heart
being stolen away... by time.
It won't stop. It won't part.
This tick tock
piercing through my heart, please stop.
My precious things... fading away.
They fall prey as my tears drop.
I fight the tick tock.
No hope. It lasts through every drip drop,
no remorse for what it reaps,
no sign that it will ever stop.
Tick tock, tick tock.
We may die but time does not.
Life's last boss, the Tick Tock,
is even stronger than I thought.
- Title: The Tick Tock
- Artist: Nemone
- Description: I wrote this while thinking about the fact that I'm getting older and how one of my uncles recently got sick and is going to die soon. I usually don't use onomatopoeia much but I decided to give it a shot with this one.

- Thank you so much. It's kind of funny I commented on your work at the same time your were commenting on mine. I think maybe we could be good friends, lol.

- Every day we grow a little older. Our time is fleeting but it doesn't stop when we do. I'm about halfway to 25 and it's hard to think about how much of life has already passed. You lose loved ones and see the world shift around you. I personally loved this poem which is why I decided to comment of course. Onomatopoeia is a lot of fun and very effectively used here. It was very thought provoking even if it did make me feel a bit sad.
