Week Twenty-One: Late Registration Yes, yes, I was supposed to update Friday - but I didn't because I was on my Thanksgiving-break and I was beat from releasing Quest System crying Now I'm back in action and I'm looking forward to the next couple of months of maintenance and bug fixing. Riding in the Short Bus Not so much to report this past week because I was only there for 2 days! (I was somewhat sick on Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday were days off for Thanksgiving). Quest Side We re-released the Quest System on Tuesday, the 21st. The re-release was almost entirely bug-free (thanks QA team!) so now we can start to build off of it going forward. Now the complainers need something else to complain about... I wanted to make another point regarding Monthly Collectibles in the Quest System, which is the new object of users' ire. Right now, it's pretty far off our radars - we haven't started on Phase Two yet, so while users are all abuzz about it, we're not discussing it too much. I'm still paying attention to user threads about MC's in the Quest System, and myself and a few others are boiling up some ideas that should please newbies and oldbies alike -- though it will be a while before we have a round table discussion about the subject. By the by, I updated the Quest System FAQ last Monday -- so if you have any questions... read that first! Pimp My MoMo I loved the new weekly comic again this past week. It included: The parody of a great new gaming system Ron Bruise! Crazy casino hags (I wonder who does their makeup) I know there are some users who don't care much for the new comics, and maybe it's my weird sense of humor, but they've really been hitting the spot for me lately. Weakest Links I've gotten so many chain letters in the past week from users I randomly added to my friendlist. From now on I'm instantly removing anybody who sends me a chain letter (and using the new "Report This PM" button). Hasn't anybody learned anything from Chainey, the Chain-Letter Mascot of Stunted Mental Development? Holiday Contest! I think at the end of this week I'm going to hold a contest to allow users to win some big cashiola. I'll be paying out of my own gold, but it should provide a little fun. Keep an eye out and tell your friends (or don't, since they might be competing against you!). I'm setting the prize at a tentative 50,000 gold eek

	I get the same chain letters over and over from the same kids who I patiently explain to "No, Ghosts will NOT do THAT to your dog" and "No, Ron Bruise is not going to give you a halo" and "No, I don't even think even Linux is capable of that sort of a virus", and ten seconds later, they send me another. Can we have quests for common sense?

	I'm glad to hear your break went well. It's late... but Welcome back. ^^ In my opinion... the whole concept of having a quest system is pretty cool to me. Some people need to cool their jets about it and be thankful we have such nice devs and admins working around the clock to make us happy. heart And the comics are bloody hilarious. It's a nice unexpected smile in the week, you know? Chain letters are just plain evil. Period. Boo to them. mad And a contest? Sounds interesting. I don't think I'd win anything... but eh. I can get gold on my own. It's a cool idea though. Hehe, now you have you're 180,927th reader of your journal. I like the fact that you update weekly (or close enough) and give us a little behind the scenes at Gaia. It helps to remind people that you guys aren't that crazy and sleep deprived. Yet. 	I had four houses to go to on Thanksgiving. I had to walk to them all. gonk By the time I got to the last house, I could barely stay awake. I remember being there because I had to talk to people, and then I was home. eek I sleep walked across town. Or I was just really zonked by the turkey. I'm setting it in stone right here that I love the entire idea of the quest system. Not only will doing the quests be something for us all to have fun with, but talking about the quests and speculation on the next one will mean the GCD will NEVAR have another slump like it did this last summer! blaugh Contest? Dang, I'd feel embarrassed winning. redface I'd suddenly be very well known for a short time. I don't know what I'd do with that kind of dough either...

	Sign my Wii! scream eek sweatdrop ...Pwease? I have pictures of me holding it, I love it, I waited infront of gamestop from 3:30 in the morning until open at 7. I WAS FIRST IN LINE! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ....cough ...So I hope your thanksgiving went well...I know I almost went insane. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for the first time and let me tell you a dorm kitchen never seems so small until you try cooking all that food in it. @@ As for the Oldbies and the Newbies complaining...take it from a middlebie...People are going to b*h either way(but you know that already don't you? sweatdrop ), Me I personal think the only item that shouldn't be re realsed is the Halo. I've loved the weekly comic ever since they started coming out. Each one has made me laugh, especally the later ones. I recently bought the box sets of Family Guy (My dog killed my old ones....don't ask @@) and came across the episode where Peter says duties and laughs. I couldn't stop giggling for hours. Hehe...Aliens and their duties... I solved my chain letter problem easy, I PMed my friendslist and said if you send me a letter, I'll sic Godzilla on you. And not the nice 80s version either. I'll sic Godzilla 2000 on your a. Lo and behold I never got a chain letter again 3nodding tugs on his sleeve Contest contest? Tell me tell me tug tug I must attempt to enter! victory pose ....cough....yeah...long reply. But I'm in class...and bored...and your a nice distraction. 	I'm just wondering if I can throw in my $.02 on phase two -- for example, YES you CAN rerelease MC's. XD; the last thing Gaia needs is a few more elitists, and I don't think people will stop buying sealeds every month because of it. I'm super excited about phase two, by the way! 	Even though you probably already know... the passwords for the page 2 screen of the Zurg thing are foo, bar, baz, and quux. But it just takes you to another screen that you'll have to wait until December to "open". I'm still VERY pro-MC's in the Quest system. Aaaaand... I'm down for a contest! Bring it on!

	Everyone was slow on Gaia during Thanksgiving. xD So don't worry too much about that it happens every where, anyways. By the way, I won't lie, xp but I lurve the QS. I shall be looking forward to more of them. I would like to pat you on the back, and say Great Job. x3 Infact, all the admins/devs/mods deserves a pat on the back. biggrin Us members will always have something to complain about; it's somewhat like a routine. New feature, then whine and moan about something that you don't like, try it and enjoy it! Afterwards the complaining subsides for awhile, until something new comes up once again. xD I complain sometimes, but I at least find something good about it before I say anything bad. I'm still trying to figure out the alien thing. I haven't understood it, and I've fell behind reading the manga plot for Gaia during the Halloween event. x.x; I also don't understand the secret area thing. I shall figure it out in due time though, in due time. ninja Hehe, I love the new recent comics as well. They're good laugh. xD I don't like chain letters either. Dx I was also tempted more than once to delete someone off my flist, because of a simple chain mail. I've also noticed new types of chain letters, that people think it's okay to send. There were ones like "A PM Worth Reading" or some sort of petition thing. ._.; I like the idea of a Holiday Contest. xD It'll be a lot of fun.

	The contest idea sounds great! Wow.. that's a lot of gold... So you hate chains too? I hate this one about child abuse that made me like "oh god" why would someone write it from the perspective abused child who gets murdered... sweatdrop Then guilts you about being a heartless person for not sending it out to all your friends... 	I was able to get pass some of the Zurg thingys... Unfortunately, me and several other successful codebreakers came upon the screen that said Processing.... crying heart Sneaky heart And P.S. 	Fleep, as someone who really is opposed to the re-release of MCs I'm also really thankful that you are at least taking into consideration the concerns of the "oldbies." Thank you, and I'll be interested to see what solutions you guys cook up... I'm going to hold off any more cheese_whine complaining cheese_whine until theres further developments because it seems the concerns are known.
