Yuki's journal
My randomness showcased for the world to see.
Part 2 section 3
Mark and the group that followed him soon found the rose path. Everyone seemed calmer now. There were no more tears from the small children and the adults were more relaxed. After a while, they could heard singing coming from the church. They approached with caution. No member of the group had hear singing from the church before. They wondered what was going on.
Mark was the first one to arrive at the door. The group waited for him to give the signal that it was safe. So Mark opened the door.
There standing at the front of the church was a choir and a same band playing away. Mark recognized several of the people from past trips with Yuki. So he gave the signal and they went in to sit and recover from their long adventure.
George, one of the band members, brought them food and blankets. Knowing that they needed to spend at least one night, Mark talked with George about what had happened. George seemed to already know. Yuki had told him about the possible out comes of the day's events. Since she was not with the group, George knew that she had stayed behind to give the group time to run. Everyone expected Yuki to act that way. She had always protected others at her own expense.
George gave Mark a list of chores and said that those who stayed a week where expected to help out. Since the group didn't know when they would be able to leave, everyone agreed to help out. Mark decided to give Yuki three weeks to arrive at the church before they made any decisions about traveling. Even though the war started three years ago, things just kept changing. Kingdoms shifted from one side to the other and back again with a day's time and people themselves also changed their allegiance often. Other people had given up hope in an end to this war. Nothing good was coming out of it and no one was winning. Thousands of villages lost everything. People, animals, and treasures were all used in aiding the war efforts.
George took the group to the back rooms where beds were ready for the church's workers. They got ready from three long weeks of church work. No one knew what else to expect.
