short stories
I plan to think of ideas for writing/typing a story. My stories will include fiction and if I work hard enough, I may write an entire story.
chapter 9 The daring escape
Methodios sat up and looked around. He was asleep for a long time, but how long? It didn't really matter now, the real problem was how they were going to escape this prison, alive. Atreus was up and sitting against a far wall, staring at the ground. "Can we get out of this?" He asked suddenly without looking up.
"We'll find a way, trust me." Methodios responded. But the problem was that he didn't know how he was going to escape. "Do you think you can run?" He asked Atreus.

"I'm not sure." He responded, "It may hurt, but if it means getting out of here, I'm willing to bear the pain." Methodios nodded. This was good so far, he looked at the bars that help them captive. There was a lock on it, but it didn’t look too challenging to pick. He looked around the room, the whole cage was made of wood. There were just several pieces of wood scattered about the cage, he may be able to use one of the pieces to pick the lock, but that didn't seem possible.

"Here, use this." Atreus said as he reached into his shoe and pulled out, a knife! Methodios didn't realize that he was watching him the whole time. "I'm counting on you." He said as Methodios took the knife. Methodios nodded and turned to face his new enemy, the bars. He worked at them for a few minutes until. *click* The bars to the cage slowly swung open.

Methodios was in the process of turning around and signaling for Atreus to come, but Atreus already ran around the edge of the cage. Methodios was stunned, but followed. Right now they needed to get away from the danger, and give Atreus’s wounds time to heal before they attack this outpost. "Our weapons." Atreus whispered.

"Huh?" Methodios said, confused. "What about them?"
"Idiot, we need them if we're to get out of here alive!" Atreus said impatiently.
"Oh, right." Methodios said, embarrassed. He looked around for some sign of a weapon shed of some kind, but didn't see any.
"It must be on the other side of the outpost." Atreus said. "Lets go." And he took off running, leaving Methodios behind in the dust.
How reckless. He thought, and followed behind Atreus once again.

They made their way to the other side of the outpost and looked around, carefully avoiding any guards or workers that were walking by. Then they spotted it, it was just a rack, with weapons on it. There were some nasty looking weapons on that rack, and among them was Atreus's bow and Methodios's broadsword. "There they are." Atreus whispered to Methodios.
But before they could make a move, a voice shouted, "Stop prisoners!" They both turned and saw yet another shade moving quickly towards them, sword drawn.
"Hurry!" Shouted Methodios. And they both bolted for the weapons rack.
