The weather was bad. It was snowing very hard, and the elves knew that Santa was going to have a hard time delivering all of his presents. Asking Mrs. Claus what to do, she went into a closet and pulled out a disfigured looking joint doll. She gave it to the elves and told them to make her pretty, and then she would do the rest. The elves did as they were told and grabbed up unused toy parts and dressed the doll up quickly. When they brought it to Mrs. Claus, she sprinkled it with fairy dust. The doll then came to life, growing tiny pixie wings in the process. Rushing out to meet Santa, they put the doll in the sleigh with him. The doll was going to help!
All through the night, the doll would grab presents and fly down from the sleigh, dropping them neatly and perfectly into the awaiting houses, even through the heavy storm. Finally, the storm died down as Santa and his doll arrived at a luxurious mansion home. They landed the sleigh, giving the reindeer a rest. As Santa was grabbing gifts from the children inside, the doll looked across the street and saw a tiny shabby looking home with a worn sign. It was an Orphanage. Before Santa went into the house, the doll grabbed his coat and asked him why there not delivering gifts to the children there. Santa laughed and shrugged his shoulders.
The doll got angry though and took the presents from his arms and flew to the orphanage and neatly piled them high for the poorer children, then using what little magic she could, she made a tree appear with faint little lights. She then flew out and hopped into the sleigh, saying she was done.
When they boy arrived back at the North Pole, the doll was taken back to Mrs. Claus' room. Santa rubbed his chin and went to talk to his wife. She smiled, asked him how it went and he told her it was fine. He was looking for the doll though.
"Where is the doll?" he asked.
"The closet. Why?" she replied simply,"Was she bad?"
"No...she was perfect."
"Thats good!"
"You gave her everything!" Santa said, explaining what happened to his wife.
Mrs. Claus blinked and smiled,"Oh...I really did give her everything. But I did not give her a heart...seems she earned that herself." Mrs. Claus said with a smile and a yawn, and then walked off heaving Santa staring at the disfigured joint doll sitting the the corner quietly.
