Last Night-Fencing
I must say that fencing is more challenging than I expected. I have good speed, but horrible balance. I must have tripped about five times. I did a decent job parrying (blocking) but I kept forgetting to strike back. The uniform is quite uncomfortable, but I guess I'll get used to it. Unfortuantely, my mother had to ruin an otherwise enjoyable experience by saying, in that annoying way mothers have, "Ooooh, maybe you'll finally find a boyfriend here! Keep your eyes open for interesting boys!" That's a laugh. I think she's making fun of the fact that I've never had a boyfriend, unless you count third grade. And no, Kaitlin, imaginary boyfriends by the name of Lance Tinuviel, or any other name for that matter, do not count. Why are parents like that? Anyway, I'll just have to practice fencing moves in my backyard with a fishing pole. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today
Nothing extremely interesting happened in school. I helped my friend with her intro to humanities poster in the library after school, but that's all.
I had a psychologist appointment today, and this time I actually felt better after talking to her this time.
I have a huge poetry project for English Honors due next Wednesday. I have to write 13 orginal poems and do an analysis of another poem. I think I'll use Sara Teasdale's "August Moonrise" for the analysis. That has been my favorite poem since I read an excerpt from it in a book ( "Tithe" by Holly Black--the book is about the dark side of faeries. It was amazing, though quite long).
