"Uhh, is that you Sky?" asked Jake, nervously. There were still bits of pie on my face. I wasn't surprised. I barely had to time to answer him when Anna tackled me again. "Ughhh," I groaned, as we landed on the ground. She nailed me right in the stomach, which painfully hurt. A group of students surrounding us, shouting and cheering. One of the guys screamed, "Take off her top!!" Jake glared at him and punched him in the face. Now there were two fights in the cafeteria. How perfect. We were still fighting when the teachers went in to have lunch. You should have seen their faces. It took a bunch of them to stop Anna and I from tearing each other apart. There were bloody marks all over my arms and legs. My lip was bleeding and there was still pieces of pie on my face. Anna was gasping for air because I was choking her for just a few seconds. Anna was a weakling. If the teachers didn't go in the cafeteria for lunch, I could have
nearly killed her already. Jake underestimated his opponent. Jake has two black eyes, and bruises on his arms. From my history book and from his opponent. I had to burst out laughing when I saw him. I stopped because my sides hurt from Anna's tackling. We all got suspended for a week. The principal said he was about to expell them, but no one killed anyone so he let us off the hook.
"Oww! Softly please!" I yelled, rubbing my back. My mom was applying ointment to my back to soothe the injuries I recieved from Anna.
"Well, too bad!" shouted my mom, applying harder. "OWW!" I cried out, whimpering. My mom was taking her anger out about me getting suspended for a week by hurting me even more. "Ugh, I can't believe you would do such a thing! Wait, never mind. I can believe that. You were always such a tomboy back then. But now you changed didn't you?? Suddenly you're going up to your best friend and tackling her??" my mom exclaimed. I rolled my eyes, and tried to block out her lecture. I tried to think of something else. But when I did that, someone always appeared in my head. Jake. I shook the memory away, but it still stayed there. As if he was meant to be there forever. I rather listen to my mom's lecture than see him. Suddenly, everything was a blur. I looked behind me. My mom was gone.
I looked around myself. The background was changing. There was another blur. I rubbed my eyes. I closed my eyes and opened them again. There was me. But in a younger version somehow. I saw myself holding hands with someone. I looked closely. It was a younger of Jake. Where am I? I must have been dreaming. I tried to run up to me and ask myself what was going on here. But it was like I was frozen there. I couldn't move. All I could do is to just watch what was about to happen next. The younger version of me was whispering something into Jake's ear. Jake nodded, and went away. A few minutes later, he came with two ice cream bars. He gave one to the younger version of me, and one for himself. Jake and the younger version of me were walking to my house. I stared at them in wonder. This was the day before Jake's birthday party! Jake went to his house, while the younger version of me went in to hers. Then, I suddenly could move. But I wasn't controlling my legs at all. I wanted to go to Jake's house, but my legs led me to mine. The door was opened, so I went in. There I was, wrapping a present. That present looked so familiar somehow. I tried to talk to myself, but no words came out of my mouth. I waved my hand in front my face. I didn't even looked up. I was into wrapping the present neatly. There was nothing else to do, but to sit next to me. While watching myself wrap the present, I was gettin a card and started to write in it. I leaned toward myself to see what was I writing. I gasped, the card said, Happy Birthday Jake! It was the present I wanted to give to Jake before he moved away. I wanted to take away the card and the present and just throw it away. But I know I couldn't. Tears were filling up my eyes. No. It can't happen this way. I don't like him. No, he left me alone for six years. But he still came back for you, said a voice.
I closed my eyes to forget that memory. The horrible memory. When I opened my eyes, there was loud screaming and music. Water was splashing everywhere. Oh no. Not here. I knew where I was. This was Jake's pool party. I saw myself being dragged by Jake. That was when he asked me that dreaded question. I saw him hug me. But this time, I saw the other side of me. I saw Jake crying on my back. I thought that was just water on my back. He really didn't mean to leave me. Jake did love me. But he was just trying too hard to do that. Jake Moud loved me. And I just treated him as if he was garbage. He really loves me.
