In three days we'll be in beach paradise. Sipping wine, being lazy under an umbrella, diving for sand dollars..... in three more days.
This week I've devoted myself to cleaning and packing. The house has to be perfect when we leave because Norris' insane father has a key, and he'll definitely come here and either mess my stuff up or (like he did for our honeymoon) see that there was a tissue on the couch and tell everyone how filthy we are.

Okay, I feel like I have to explain that. We left at 7AM the day after our wedding. For the week before, I had been decorating and finalizing all of the details. I didn't have a huge amount of time to clean the house and do laundry and whatnot. We got home from the wedding, opened our presents (so that I could write thank you notes on the honeymoon), took out the trash, bathed and I put a load of towels washing. When I was in line at the terminal I remembered the towels and called Norris' mom. She said that his dad had already been here, dried the towels and picked up the mess all over the living room. The mess was a piece of tissue paper from one of the gifts we had opened the night before. He had spoken to my mom about it.........can you imagine?

So the house must be perfect!.... until we change the locks. I had almost everything in place for the week of preparation. Then I took the kids to the doctor on Monday because they were itching like crazy. I thought it was eczema, but it's actually scabies............. crying . Now I have to wash everything in the house that they've touched AGAIN, and repack for vacation. Quel annoying.
I fully expect them to grow up and be rich, so that I'll be well taken care of in my old age. Alex should be a doctor of dead things with eyeballs hanging out, and Ryan will either fulfill his dream of being a singer/song writer or my dream of him being an assassin for hire. That will do quite nicely for my retirement. If not, i bet we could get a good price for them in the slave market. Alex is charming and blonde, and Ryan's good and chubby. That's some good eatin'!
