Well for todays update im still in biap we was suppost to fly last night but because of a bad
sandstorm we didnt we sat in this little bulding waiting to fly from 1500/300pm till 2345/1145
and we got back here to the tents now they say we are not flying till the 3rd of this month
and that is if the weather is good enough. As for my own thoughts i would like to clear up a
few things that if people read this and they are not in the army they will understand something
that not everyone in Iraq is in danger they are in some way but not like you think there are
about 80% of the soldiers in Iraq will not get shot at will not see the out side of the wire
and they dont want to there are finace people that stay in an office and do nothing but paper
work we have cooks that dont even cook they watch the people the army hired cook and most of
the soliers work for 0900 till 1700/500pm the other 20% of the soldiers they are the ones going
outside the wire looking for the bad guys looking for the IED/EFP they are the ones putting
there lifes on the line and you want to know something else everyone is getting paid the same
the soldier that works in the office and dose paper work till 1700 he gets paid the same as
the guys walking 6 to 8 miles down a raod looking for IED's or pulling security for hours and
getting 8 off and in those 8 off you have to find time to sleep or eat or even do a partol it
just depends i just wanted to get that off my chest and let everyone know this. Also one of
my friends asked me if i ever shot someone well the ansewr to that is yes i have i seen people
get shot i have shot people and it isnt the best thing in the world seeing someone you work with
for almost a year get shot and then isnt around anymore and shoting someone because you have to
or because it is your job thats one thing. Last time i was in Iraq we was on a patrol we got
out brief like we was suppost to and then left we set up a cheak point to search cars and ask
people radom questions well half way through we got a car that was comeing and it wasnt slowing
down i called the LT and he shined his green laser now when iraq people see this they know to
stop slow down or turn around well this car didnt so when it got about 100 meters out i fired
warning shot into the air well then the car speeded up and ounce it got about 50 meters i fired
another warning shot in front of the car it started going faster the thing i tought in my head
was this car was a bomb and it was going to blow us up well i gave the order to shot the car
it turned out to be a family and we killed everyone why they didnt slow down or stop i dont know
but you know the funny thing is that the army and the higher chain of cammand questions everyone
and they wanted to know why we did this made us feel like the bad ones for doing it it as dark
couldnt see it was a family untill it was all over so like i said the answer to the question is
yes i have so for today i am done im going to go call my wife and then go eat at the chow hall
