((I had someone look at a few of my songs for critique. The ideas behind some of my things were a little overdone, as he said, and suggested I tried something unique. This is what I got....))

fall to my feet.
You'll see what's beneath.
The creature hidden in me.

When the puzzle is complete,
all will see.
That the darkness I've fought,
is winning in me.

When the masquerade
is only skin deep.
The paper skin
hides a soul that is weak.

When these puzzle pieces
lay at my feet.
Corruption will then
consume what was me.
This is what I get
for morbid curiosity.

I feel like
I'm never complete.
When I peel away
these pieces of me.
Pieces to a puzzle,
the puzzle that was me.
A puzzle that will
never be complete.

They all once fit.
This picture once pure.
A fading light,
In a world that's at war.

The forces of good,
the darkened of heart,
they tear each apart.
When the innocent
are in the middle,
who is at fault?

When one is the battle,
who's soul is for claim.
The light tries to save
when the other likes pain

Showing the world
of my defeat.
That's what they see.
When all of the pieces
lie at my feet

It shows what I've hidden
deep within me.
The creature inside
who has tried
to dominate me.
The one I've fought
to the end and more.
When the darkness consumes
it affects the world.
