"Instructor Karen?" Ami said. The Maiden, now revealed to be Karen, made a "shh" sound. "Only a few people know about this." Ami nodded. She got on the rail as well and jumped off. As she did, her formal clothes became her regular clothes. "Allow me to personally assess your progress with them." Karen said. She brought out a pair of standard twin daggers. "So that we won't have a weapons advantage." she explained. Ami nodded as she got out a pair of standard twin daggers. Karen went in first and spun around, slashing as she went along. Ami used her daggers to block the attacks. Ami responded by performing the special. "So, you are already pretty far in the special attacks." Karen avoided the barrages of spinning slashes and countered with her own. The two traded off blows for a while. Soon, it became mixed with melee combat. When the pairs of daggers clashed again, Karen lifted her leg up and delivered a side kick to Ami's side. She rolled off to the side from the impact of the kick. "Ugh, you didn't say anything about kicks." Ami commented. Karen just gave a smirk. "Emil taught you to expect anything." she simply replied. Ami got up and wiped the dirt off her cheek.
By then, the people who were in the room had heard the sparring outside and flooded the balconies, watching the two. The girls could hear them say, "Hey isn't that Erra?" and "Isn't that the one who told off that AMF?" "Your reputation proceeds you." Karen said. Ami's face turned red. "I didn't mean to be based off of that." Then Ami smirked, "But hey, you're pretty popular yourself." She ran up to Karen to deliver a knee to Karen's midsection. Karen stumbled back a bit. Ami took the time she stumbled to make a kick to her chest. Karen put her daggers in a downwards position and blocked the kick with her arms. She pulled Ami to the left as she turned around to deliver a slash. Ami put her right hand behind her to block it. Then Ami ducked to make a sweeping low kick at Karen's leg. As Karen fell backwards, Ami lunged forward. She stopped her daggers just above Karen's neck. "So it's a tie then." Karen said with a smirk. Ami looked down and realized that Karen had Ami in the same position, her twin daggers making a cross shape just above her neck. Ami smiled, "Yeah, I guess so." Emil looked above with a smile on his face. "That's my pupil." he said under his breath. He looked on. His proud turned to worry for what he saw next. He saw Ami fall backwards into the ground.
Karen saw as well when Ami fell to the ground. Like Ethan, she saw a glow coming from the wound on Ami's arm. She had felt something ominous coming from the wound itself. "Someone get a medic here." she commanded. By the time medics came, there was already a group forming around Ami. Most were wondering what happened to her. The medics came to the center of the group and put Ami onto the stretcher. "Who's going with us?" Kyoh gave a slight push to Hyuga. "You sure?" Kyoh nodded. "Yeah, I'll go visit after I have a talk with Emil." When the group left, Karen made her way over to Ethan. "I saw a glow on her arm." Ethan nodded. "So did I, back in the Relics. What do you think it means?" Karen watched as the transport become further and further away. "I don't know. But the photons around that area felt ominous. She's going to be used for something."

Ami woke up to an abnormally white ceiling. "Wha-? Where am I?" She looked over to see a window. "Oh so you are awake?" said a nurse. The nurse went over and picked up a chart. "What happened?" Ami asked. "You passed out at the formal." She continued to look at the chart. "Hmm, you have some nano-machines in your body. We'll have to prep you for therapy to get them out." Ami grabbed the nurse's arm. "Please, don't. I want them in me, for a bit longer." She looked at Ami, surprised. "What? Do you realize what you are saying?" Ami nodded. "Yeah, I know it sounds crazy. But it's for a mission. Just keep this confidential." The nurse could see how desprate Ami meant it. "Fine, okay. But the moment it gets too much or this mission is over, then you report straight here for immediate therapy." Ami nodded. "Thank you. And don't tell anyone else?" The nurse sighed lightly to herself. "Okay." Then she looked at Ami, "Do you want him to come in?" "Him?" Ami asked. "Yes, a friend of yours rode in with you." Ami thought about who it is that rode in with her. She shook her head. "Yeah, I'll see him." The nurse left the room for a few minutes. During those minutes alone, Ami thought about many things. Mainly she was trying to piece together why Magashi didn't try to kill them when he had the chance. It worried her about what was going on. 'I'll have to get to the Hive if I'm going to find any answers.' The door opened while Ami was in deep thought. Hyuga took a seat beside her. "How are you feeling?" Ami nodded. "Fine, just exhausted though. Sorry for worrying you like that." He shook his head. "No, you have nothing to apologize for. Are you sure that nothing is wrong? This is the second time you passed out like that." "Yeah, I'm fine." Kyoh came in soon afterwards.
"I heard what caused it. It does seem that you are working a bit too hard lately." Kyoh suggested. Ami put up the best smile she could come up with. "It is true, but I can deal with it. I have no right to be a Guardian if I can't take up this work." She got up from her cot, feeling a bit weary. "I'll go to my room." Kyoh stood in front of her. "Wait, hey. In a couple weeks, we all should be having a small break. How about we all go to that beach resort?" Ami became embarrassed. She hadn't worn a swimsuit in a while. Plus Hyuga would see her in it. And there was the scar she had. It was the reason why she wore clothes that covered her ankles. Kyoh leaned over and whispered, "I don't think he would mind the scar." Ami sighed. "Fine. Okay." She turned to Hyuga. "You coming?" He nodded. "Yeah, why not?" Kyoh showed a brief smile. "I'll go and ask Ethan if he wants to go." After Kyoh left, it was silent again. Hyuga got up and started to walk alongside Ami. "I'll walk you back."
The walk back was quiet one. Ami was still deciding whether she should ask for permission to go to the Hive or just wait it out. "...mi, Ami." Hyuga called. She stopped to look at him. "Sorry, what was you saying?" He stared at her. "Are you sure you okay? You've been spacing out a lot lately as well." Ami gave a nod. "I'm okay. Just a lot of stuff on my mind. But it's nothing to concern yourself with." He suddenly hugged her. "Don't distance yourself from me." he whispered. This made Ami blush. "I'm not." she mumbled. "Okay, but if there is something you need to talk about just contact me." he said. Ami nodded. "I will, promise." The two separated. "So," he began to ask, "Why were you and Karen out there fighting?" "We weren't fighting, sparring. I left to get some air. Karen and I talked for a bit. I brought up how I can't find anyone specializing in twin daggers and she offered to spar with me." Then she said, "I didn't know that there was a connection between her and the Maiden." "We were ordered by the Communion of Gurhal to keep quiet about that, so I couldn't tell you." he admitted. Ami nodded. "Right." She closed her eyes. "I need to get going." Hyuga nodded. "Okay, remember if anything you need to-" "-talk about, you're here. I know. I won't forget." she completed. Ami went to the door before stopping. "Thanks." Hyuga smiled. "Anytime, that's what friends are for right?" Hearing the 'friends' statement startled Ami. She quickly covered it up. "Yeah, that's what they do." She slide open the door of the barracks entrance. "I'll get going." She went behind the door and closed it.

I'm just so happy about a Portable 2. Not because of possible Hyuga, but they have improved some gameplay and I might get to nostalgia-trip because they are bringing back some PSO stuff. I've realized that I've been rewriting a good few of my fics. I'm not re-writing the PSU though. Worked too hard and plus I've already posted it. Though I am thinking about a part 3. Won't be as drama heavy, I hope. Just some identity crisis. Don't hold it as truth though, since I'm still up in the air about it.
