Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Ami was in a dark place. She looked in front of her. There were flames. As she walked closer and closer, she could make out mounds of shapes. Ami looked in horror as she found out what the shapes were. They were bodies. What made it worse was that it was the bodies of her friends and allies. Ami looked at her hand, and her eyes widened. Her hand was stained with blood and her twin daggers were darkness imbued instead of the standard physical photons. Then she looked on. There was another person, he was standing there smiling. "Good work." Ami tried to run, but it seemed like she was running in place. She stopped again. She could see Seed blumes falling towards the planets of the Gurhal system. She fell on her knees and began to scream.
Ami woke up in a cold sweat afterwards. Megami floated in front of Ami. "Ami, are you alright?" She took a moment to notice Megami was addressing her. "I'm okay. Just a nightmare." She got up. "What's the agenda for today?" Megami made a slight buzzing sound. "It seems like you have a meeting with the Divine Maiden today." Ami's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I wonder why. Am I going with someone?" There was another beeping sound. "No, she specifically asked for you alone." Ami went into the other room to do her morning routines. "When does she want me to meet with her?" "She'll be waiting for you in the Guardians' Branch here later." Megami answered. A couple minutes later, Ami came out wearing her regular clothes, with her hair in her signature ponytail. "This is interesting." Ami went behind Megami and pressed a couple buttons on it. "Oh Ami, the sword you synthesized is ready." Ami nodded. "It looks like it's a success." Ami looked through her vision phone to find Emil's number. After a couple beeps, he picked up. "Ami? It's rare that you contact me." "I know it. But I have something for you. Is it okay that I stop by and give it to you?" Emil was silent for a moment. "Sure, is half an hour okay?" Ami nodded. "See you then."
Just as Emil specified, Ami was at his room. Emil opened it. "Come on in." he said. She looked around. The room was neat. There were no decorations. But the room was arranged in a way that it was bigger than what it actually was. "Nice." Ami said. Emil pulled up an extra chair. "So what do I owe the honor?" She took the seat. "Well, I've been spending a while trying to thank you for what you've done for me. So I went and made this sword for you." She took out the Svaltus Sword and handed it to Emil. He stared at the sword, amazed. "After the mission with Emelia, Hyuga gave me a Svaltus Edge. And he suggested that I make you the sword to apologize for that mission." Emil stood up. "You don't have to apologize for that. I'm not mad at that anymore." Ami shook her head. "That's not it. I made it to thank you. I might not be the person I am today if you didn't teach me and Kyoh. So I thank you." He looked at her and smiled. "It's okay Ami. You don't have to thank me for anything. It's my duty as a Guardian." Ami smiled a bit. "I hope I can apply that kind of teaching if I do get to instruct in the future." He laughed. "It might not be a good idea to do so. That was my first time instructing." Ami stood up. "I should get going." She made her way to the door before Emil said, "So I heard that you are going to the beach resort with Kyoh and the rest. Shame I won't see you in a swimsuit." Ami's face went red. "That could be interpreted a many of ways Emil." she said before leaving.

Ami sat at one of the meeting rooms of the branch. She was waiting for the Divine Maiden, Karen, to meet with her. She couldn't get the dream she had out of her head. It was so vivid to her. Ami let out a sigh. The door slid open. On the other side was Karen, in her regular clothing. "It's nice to meet you under not so surprising terms." Karen said. Ami nodded. "It is." Karen took a seat in front of Ami. "So, I heard that the cause was that you were overworked." Ami nodded. "Yeah, but I'm partly to blame. I insisted on working even though I watched my former instructor take a hit for me. My mind hasn't been quite back yet." Karen took the time to listen to Ami's situation. "So I've been passing out. It's weird, I was nearly killed by a Seed a while ago and I was calm. I wonder what happened." Karen straightened up. "You were almost killed by a Seed?" Ami nodded. "Yeah, when they first arrived here." She closed her eyes to think about the moment. "We were evacuating. The ground beneath me collapsed, I was falling. The Seed was going to take me and probably see to it that I fall to my death. Then he came." "He?" Karen asked. "A Guardian. He risked his life to try to get me up. The Seed wasn't going to let me go that easily unfortunately. The Guardian was able to destory it after a couple shots to it." Ami then knelt down to remove her right boot. Around her ankle was a darkened ring. "But not before it gave me a parting gift. It gave me a scar and I'm lucky to leave with just that." Karen smiled a bit. "So that's why you became a Guardian." Ami nodded. "Right." Ami heard a beep coming from from commlink. "Satomora, we need you down at Parum. There seems to be an intruder going for one of the Seals." Ami stood up. "I have to get going." Karen stood up. "Not alone. Based on what you told me. You probably need it. Besides, I'm temporarily a Guardian for this case." Ami gave a quick nod before the two left.

The two girls arrived at the Relics site. The first thing they noticed that it was empty. "Are you sure that it's here?" Karen asked. "Yeah, it's the right place." The two heard some laughter in the air. Karen got her twin daggers out. "Be on alert Ami. He's here." Ami nodded as she took out her twin daggers. In front of them, the familiar Cast appeared before the two. "Oh and you bought the Maiden with you as well." he said. Ami went in and attacked first. "Ami!" shouted Karen. Magashi was able to avoid her attacks easily. "Quite energetic are we?" Karen switched her daggers for a gun. "Ami, duck!" she commanded. Ami ducked as Karen shot a couple bullets at Magashi. It hit him but he only smiled as they hit. Karen shot some more bullets, with it having the same effect. "It's time that we go and bring havoc again." Suddenly, Ami became completely still. She felt an intense burn on her arm. Karen could feel an overflow of photons from Ami's arm. Ami knelt to the ground and began to cough. As she did, blood came out. "What are you doing to her?" she asked. Magashi was silent at first. "Just activating the nano-machines. They should have covered more than enough." He went over to Ami. She looked at him, glaring. She weakly took out her gun and fired two shots at him before passing out. Karen went up to Magashi and began slashing at him. He took out his sabers and attacked as well. The two kept up their combat for a while before Magashi took a step back. Suddenly, a trap activated in front of Karen. She took a leap back before it exploded. This gave Magashi enough time to grab Ami. By then, she had lost consciousness. He continued laughing until he disappeared with Ami in tow. Karen reached for her commlink. "This is Karen Erra. I have an emergency. Send Waber, Ryght, and Sage here immediately." She sighed a little while sitting back. "How did nano-machines get into her body?"
A few minutes later, the three males arrived at the scene. The first thing they saw was Karen sitting on the ground. "Karen, you okay?" Ethan asked. "Yeah." she said, getting up. "Magashi was here. And he took Ami." Hyuga put on his goggles to examine the area. "She was called down here because there was supposedly an intruder here. Well, it was kinda true. Anyway, he set us up." Kyoh asked, "But why her?" "Apparently," Karen replied, "he had injected her with nano-machines. How did it happen? I don't know." She pointed to where Ami was kneeling at. "She started coughing up blood over there." Kyoh went over to the spot and began analyzing it using his goggles. "It has something to do with their mission to the Hive a while back. Emil had the same condition, but they were able to get it out of him." Kyoh explained. "So Ami had them and not told anyone?" Hyuga said. Kyoh stood up, sighing. "This is typical. She will brave it so that she won't worry anyone." Karen leaned back to a column. "I get it, it came from her arm. It was glowing when they activated. She must have gotten injured there but not enough to tell anyone. Seeing as Emil was more injured than her." She closed her eyes. "I think I understand her a bit. She doesn't want anyone to worry. If everyone worried, then they will just keep supporting her. Believe it or not, Ami is a Guardian. She wanted to do this on her own." Ethan nodded. "Okay so we got why she did what she did. Now we need to know where she is." Kyoh looked up. "Isn't it obvious? She's at the Hive." Karen suggested, "We can ask the president if he would issue a request for us to go there and rescue." Hyuga already started walking at the suggestion. "I'll go and request it."

Magashi arrived at a room with various pod-shaped cases. One opened up as he got near it. Then he placed Ami inside of it and the case closed. Inside, a dark purple color fog surrounded the bottom of the case and made it's way up around Ami's body. She arched her back when she inhaled the fog, then falling down again. "It will take a while." said a female voice. The woman stayed in the shadows. "The subject is a Guardain. She has been injected with a Seed vaccine. So we need to wait until it wears off." The woman let off a small sigh. "Everything will come together soon. For this system needs to be purged."

So the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced to write a part 3. Plus I want to use it to tie up some ficlets I wrote. And to point out what's canon in my plot. (I guess I should say fanon ha ha)
