Memoirs of a Lunatic
I have a lot to say as I am a very opinionated person. I'll often post whatever happened on a certain day or what's happening around me in general. Othertimes I'll post thoughts that I'm having. I also like reviewing movies, books, and other mediums
We Should All Be Firecrackers of People
So we missed the release of AFI's Crash Love. I must say, it gets better the more frequently you listen to it (although there are a couple of songs I really don't care for next to the others presented). The music is fabulous. And the whole color scheme for the project is fantastic. The only thing I'm unhappy with about it is the actual symbol for Crash Love. And it's not even that I dislike the shape of it or anything, but the way it overlaps itself like icing in the spelling - that's the one thing I find hideous about it (and the marketing of the symbol in their video for "Medicate" wink .

Anyway, since I've been listening to Crash Love fairly unceasingly the past 1.5 days, I've been thinking about the sorts of celebrities people want to meet: so very often fabulous creatures like Lady Gaga or whatever other people. And I thought, as much as I'd love to speak with Lady Gaga, and as brilliant as she is in her own right, a discussion with Davey Havok would be extremely stimulating. He's cute, insightful, and more importantly, he has strong, admirable ideologies, thoughts, and practices. Seriously: he's vegan, he's straight-edge, he's a humanitarian, he double majored, he's got the most distinct, diverse vocal range, he's simultaneously a musician/artist/fashion designer (AND he's cute... AND gay =D), etc...

And I'm someone who would like to think that I'm not enchanted with the concept of role models or personal heroes of admiration because I think people should develop their personas themselves. But if I were to have a modern role model, I'd want it to be someone like Davey. He's so damn intelligent. I mean, he can casually talk about philosophical concepts in an interview like conscious hedonism. Where the ******** are all the other intelligent people in popular culture? Or even merely modern culture? It's ******** ( I LOVE that word). Just a thought.

And I'm not endorsing him as role model (although for people seeking one, he's definitely a great one). Although I would like to emphasize that there is a difference between having someone as a role model and having someone as an influence. He's sculpted his entity into what makes him such a great person - and everyone else needs to do that for themselves as well with their own blueprints. Also note that people evolve (look at AFI's musical history).

The point is, if people would apply their quintessential entity into everything they did, I think the world would be such a vibrant, brilliant, fluid place. It'd be absolutely lucid. And that would be really fabulous. I don't think I've even imagined a world quite that great in that way until now.
