Since I started gaia I've been in General Discussion mostly. Sometimes I wander to Extended Discussion or Chatterbox or a few other places, but I mostly stuck with GD. The problem site-not-allowed is getting less and less worth visiting. Occasionally we get a zombie survival thread or something else that holds my attention, but in general we get crap threads I don't care about.

Chatterbox is worse. You get a bunch of roleplay threads, bump threads, tektek me threads, and other stupid crap. From time to time they have a "raid" on General Discussion. Usually we can't even tell unless they say they are from CB. Dealing with CBers used to be fun. GD used to flame them pretty good. Now they just give warnings of the supposedly epic flaming they think will ensue.

Extended Discussion would be nice, but usually I find EDers to be annoying. If you have an opinion you are instantly wrong and you are an idiot. Some of my friends are EDers so I know they're not all like that. Still all the same it's just "GTFO you are too stupid to post here". Rather than discussing topics like civilized people they just sit around flaming each other. All too often there will be a post with maybe a sentence or two of genuine discussion surrounded in a couple of paragraphs of insults. If you make any post based on emotion or religion they will get in your face about it. It's actually a pretty easy way to troll them.

Guilds used to provide solace. I could see a lot of friendly faces and have a good time with intelligent people who didn't always act like jerks. Unfortunately all guilds I am in have slowed to a crawl.
