My mask I wear
That hides my true self
From the ones I love most
Pain, tormented soul
Lost in darkness in this sinful world
But found by you
You alone bring me out of my losing battle
With a gentle hand and a loving smile
Comforts comes
Slowly the ice melts away around my heart
Words you say with meaning
Meanings that only I hear and the breaking of chains from darkness’s clutches
Soul lifted, burden gone, and pain recedes
Leaving with you
Hand and hand.
