This journal entry will focus on Sony's foray into motion-based gaming, like the Nintendo Wii. The only difference is that instead of the new motion controller being the only way to play EVERY game on the system, certain games will be tailor made for the controller, thus resulting in a better gaming experience. For those of you uninitiated on the PS Move, check out the PS Blog post that was made back during E3 (the biggest gaming event of the year) that officially revealed Move's release date, and other things.
Now that you're caught up, what do I think about it? Well, I'll say one thing to start. If I wanted motion-based gaming, I would have bought a Wii. But I didn't buy a Wii (nor do I plan on it). I bought a PS3 because it was the system I wanted and didn't think they (Sony) would introduce motion-based gaming to the system. Do I plan on picking up the Move when it releases? I doubt it. I have too many games I want to buy later in the year to sink $100 (or more) into Move and its games. So I will wait. I'm just skeptical on how fun the experiences can be with the Move. But the best thing about it if I do get it? When I get tired of moving my arms around, I can always go back to using a normal controller on another game. And that's the best thing right there.
My View: Still skeptical on how successful it will be...
*This was previously, a very short Review of God of War III for the PS3. I have since, apparently, edited this post to include more read-worthy content. Hopefully, I will post a more lengthy review of GoW III in the near future. Stay tuned.
