The Zombie survival game Dead Frontier released its new 3D version about a week ago. I've been playing off and on for a couple years. Mostly off though. When I found out 3D was released it jump started my interest in the game again. My alt character which I've consistently used like a main has been putting in a lot of work. The 2D version is still available and there is a toggle link at the main outpost. Both versions of the game have distinct differences.

2D
There is only one main outpost. In the Inner City you can clear out and barricade a building to make a personal outpost. One screen in the inner city is 1 city block. The Outpost Attack event happens every day. OA is when an army of zombies attack the outpost and you have 3 minigames to choose from to defend the fort. At the end of OA depending on how well everyone did you are awarded an experience bonus. There is also a mission board where you can take certain jobs for money and experience. The zombies regions are Grey, Purple, Red, Fat Red, and Long Arm with certain boss monsters you can fight.

3D
The barricade system has been removed but there are at least 3 outposts scattered in the inner city. One loading screen is about 9 city blocks. Mission board and Outpost Attack are not available. I also heard rifles are not available in 3D. I assume this is due to a somewhat reduced line of sight combined with the rifles slow rate of fire. The zombies seem to stay consistent with regular zombies and mutants. The deeper in the city you go the more abundant the mutants are and the more hostile they are. Zombie AI has changed quite a bit. In 2D zombies have attacked as soon as they appear. in 3D they often leave you alone and you can walk right past them without too much trouble as long as you don't attack. Sometimes you can even run right into an enemy and run away without being hit. In 2D if you run right into a zombie they will attack and probably hit. 3D seems to give better experience and better loot.

That's pretty much my observations.
