The Dark and Twisted Fantasy
The Prologue
The snow crunched beneath Alex's feet. He sighed, watching as his breath exploded into a huge mist before him. He slowly waked to the end of street, humming a low and seemingly harmless tune. "I knew it was you."
Alex turned on the spot, peering down the street. He could see the faint shadow of a man standing at the other end of the street. "W-what?" questioned Alex, stepping back cautiously. He could hear an evil laugh coming from the man. "There's no escaping now, Alexander." the shadow said, gaining snickers from the new crowd of shadows standing at both end of the street. "Oh I hate it when people call me Alexander. Alex thought. He drew a thin, long piece of metal hanging from the side of his waist, raising it high into the air. "You won't kill me like this." he spoke through gritted teeth. The shadows started rushing towards him, stepping into the light only to reveal purple silhouettes of the men they used to be. Alex thrust the now glowing piece of metal into the air and disappeared with a flash.
A single drop of blood fell to the ground, splashing all over the white snow. All the shadows disappeared except one, who was still hidden by the darkness. Cloak drawn over his head, the figure emerged from the shadows, bending down to inspect the blood. He trapped it in a small phial and disappeared, just as easily as Alex had.

A single eye peered out into the night. The king quite enjoyed looking out onto his kingdom. "I made all of this." he thought delightedly. The kingdom lay on the border between reality and fantasy, or so the king liked to think it was, though it lay more on the fantasy side. He had made it all by himself and it now inhabited many of creatures. The corruption hadn't come yet.
