Why Pokemon Anime is Horrible
I loved playing Pokemon since first starting out my adventure in Pokemon Red in the original Game Boy. I have also played Pokemon Yellow (Special Pikachu Edition), Gold/Silver, Emerald, Platinum, Black/White and Black/White 2. By the time I became a champion in White 2, I've grown weary of the long battles and refused to go any further in the new Pokemon X/Y. Looking back, it was a very long, fun and memorable trek.

So I enjoyed the game but what about the anime? As far as I remember, I liked Ash's first adventures up to Johto all right. It wasn't fantastic or fun as the game was. By the time I reached the end of the Johto Journeys, I started to feel the anime series wasn't really coming off good. And I was right, for in the sequels that followed after Johto Journeys, the Pokemon anime went more and more downhill.

Here are my reasons why I feel the Pokemon anime is horrible:

1. Every episode is just one random problem- Isn't Ash supposed to be the main character in the anime? And if he is, why isn't the anime focusing on the main characters and their goals? The core elements of Pokemon are battling, training, leveling up and evolving. Instead, we just watch the main characters face and solve a random problem that turns up each episode. Then continue on in the next episode and repeat.

2. Throwing away "champ" buddies- At the end of every season and the start of a new one, Ash leaves behind all his Pokemon except for Pikachu. Didn't Ash say Pokemon were your partners and your friends? And besides, those Pokemon that he put aside were all experienced enough to make his next journey to the league easier and faster! Was it really necessary to cast them aside and look for fresh replacements?

3. Team Rocket trio wastes their time- I'm pretty sure Pokemon fans have seen the Team Rocket trio (Jesse, James and Meowth) stalk Ash in almost every episode. Their main goal: steal Ash's Pikachu. What's so special about that Pikachu? If those guys really want a Pikachu, then why not go out in the wild and catch one as many other trainers do? You only need your own strong Pokemon and a few Pokeballs! Not some weird giant robot or expensive tech that drains your pocket money or life savings! Over 10 years, and they're still idiots stalking a champion-wannabe kid and his Pikachu, admist increasing debts.

4. Endless loop of failure- In each season, we always see Ash aiming to become the Pokemon champion. The big question: when will we *ever* see him achieve it? We've been wasting time watching all episodes of his journey, only to end up seeing him lose in the league match. Every single league match!

5. Ash's Pikachu becomes an embarassment- Has anyone ever wondered what level is Ash's Pikachu in the current Pokemon anime season? He's been with Ash since the very first season and have fought with Ash through all his battles. By all that, he should be very high level by now shouldn't he? Right! So... in the Unova region in the anime... tell me why is he beaten by a low level Snivy? o_O Is this some joke?

6. Every season is a repeat of the previous one. With the difference that it's all in a new location. Same old stuff as the previous season. Lots of filler episodes too. You can make a huge bet that Ash will lose the league match (again) at the end of each season. The people who created this anime must be really lazy to think up something innovative/creative for a new season. On top of that, notice how it's been over 10 years since the anime started, and Ash never ages.

So there you have it. The Pokemon anime is horrible, don't bother watching it. Instead, go play the game. The game's far better worth your time than sitting on your sofa and watching a repeatable story of Ash's boring journey and his constant failure to become a champion.
