Kayla's Journal
This is an account of Kayla's experiences at The Barton Academy of Gaiamancy.
There’s a big test coming up next week in Field Manipulation. I don’t know if I’m ready yet. I’m still having trouble with dynamic wave equations. I’m already having nightmares about it. Last night I dreamed I had totally forgotten to show up for class, and I was terrified I’d have to face Mr. Horitt to ask him for a retest.

In Tools and Materials we’ve been working with gases, releasing them from rocks and changing their molecular structures. It’s touchy work. You have to always be aware of how the other materials will respond to the change. One girl messed up while trying to draw the water vapor out from a stone and released a bunch of sulfur dioxide instead. The whole room smelled of rotten eggs for the rest of class.

Later today, Dottie and I did some shopping to get ready for out Biometrics camping trip. We both bought a warm jacket and sleeping bag for the cool nights. Also Dottie picked up some of those chemical glow sticks. She says they sometimes come in handy when you need to find the outhouse at night, plus they’re just fun. What's more, I got a great deal on a pair of nightvision goggles that I just couldn't pass up!

Oh. And Dottie’s cousin sent us the pictures she took of us at the pool. I think we look like a couple of hot chicks! Well, we were hot from the sun anyway.
