Week Seventeen: Good Morning Starshine It's 1:19 AM PST, and I'm writing this journal update to fend off the wraiths of sleep! It's been an exciting week... not just for features, but also for event stuff! I also have a feature update for ya! Feature Update My new feature is now in testing. Hopefully it's not too broken (we all remember what Daily Chance did for the site...) and we'll be able to release it very, very soon! Since we're pretty close, I'll release a few hints: * NO, IT WASN'T JIGSAW!. I am not a Flash developer. I don't make those kinds of games... yet. * It's not in Lanzer's sig * It's not event-related I never said they'd be GOOD hints rofl ALIUMS! The UFO's have stepped up their activity and Ron Bruise made an appearance in Towns! Many Gaians are saying that this is the most interactive, NPC-heavy event yet. If you haven't had a chance to see an alien yet, hang around the fountain in 5 Barton 001000, or in 5 Barton 001919 blaugh There's a good chance you'll run into one. Here are some highlights from the UFO's appearances so far: * 09 is apparently in love with Yuzi_K. He has been shunned by several of the other aliens because 09 is sympathetic to Gaians. He has disappeared. * 05 finds Gaians very delicious. He seems to be interested in their flavors * 06 and 11 are apparently evil as well * Several admins have been abducted! If you check their profiles, you will see that they are missing! Lots of users have warned me that I might be abducted -- but thanks to my huge amount of hair, I am impervious to alien beams. This is going to be my first event, but it looks like it's going to be one of the best for Gaia. Huzzah! Jigsaw Okay. How can I put this. Let me illustrate this in a way that will garner no confusion: I am an addict. I think this is the best game Gaia has yet. Thanks go to a ton of people here, but mostly to Pizmonaut, who was the main guy behind the game (including coming up with the idea!) I can't stress enough: JIGSAW IS NOT MY PROJECT ... but I wish it were. gonk Profile Comments: Abducted?! You may have noticed, if you had a lot of comments, that a lot of your comments went missing recently. We had to prune down some profile comments to 500 per-user because the sheer number of them was breaking the site for some weird reason. So we pruned some old comments (sorry crying ) and now everything's stable again. Hopefully we'll have a more graceful solution going forward. Snacktopia Will Kill Us All I'm starting to think Snacktopia was the idea of one of our competitors, created to make Gaia's staff so fat they die of heart attacks. Here are some things in Snacktopia at this very minute: * Snickers bars * Hersheys bars * Kit kats * Pistachios * Pirates Booty * RED VINES (Mr. Pibb not included) * Gummy Bears * Oreos Truly, we are the happiest staff in the world.

	If they added twinkies... then you'd know it was a plot to end Gaia. ninja It's a bit harder to keep up with this event. Previous events had nice easy to find Guilds. Crazy how this 19 thing has gotten so intertwined.

	Snacktopia isn't worth it if it doesn't have Reese's. talk2hand Reese's pwn. Of course, I say that without the temptation... I think Jigsaw is defineately one of the better games. Really good pay-offs plus addictiveness equals 42. Any estimated dates as to when your feature would be released? Sometime after the event as likely no one could handle your shiney feature plus Halloween all at once. Your first event? You've missed out, man. You've missed out highs, lows, prommie-ism, and everything in between. Just tell the admin and other devs to make sure Jack can count this time. wink

	You speak truth about Jigsaw. I took it upon myself to do the Insane version of the Weekly Puzzle (an appropriately insane Gambino) and I think I gave myself mild carpal tunnel and sleep-deprivation hallucinations after the three other insane puzzles my head forced me to do later. crying Damn you Gaia.

	I'm not checking the site too much. The puzzles make me very happy. Mr. Pibb and Red Vines = CRAZY DELICIOUS! (I'm English, I have no idea what any of that is...) You used my word! ALIEUMS!

	I don't think your impervious to alien beams. The aliens don't abduct the willing! Your hints to the uber secret ultra project are definitely not very good hints. xp I hope they don't release it during the Halloween event. There is always lag and glitches that show up during this awesome event. I hope you enjoy it. I think it's the best event on Gaia every year, despite all the problems & complaints. Maybe I'll see you around. What's Pirates Booty?

	talk2hand Pssh you know we already know you ARE one so of course they wouldn't abduct you. Jigsaw has taken a small piece of my brain Dx I cant function if i don't play it at least once I day, cant wait to see what yours is tho xD I be we'd get some really crazy games if you could do that kinda coding. 	what could your project be? i want to know! gonk i haven't had a chance to really play jigsaw yet (since my computer ate the program i need to use my wireless)...but i have a feeling i might end up like that as well, soon enough. i hope you don't get abducted, unless the aliens implant the knowledge to code games into your mind. that might actually be interesting...

	I still cant wait for this project! The more you talk about it, the more I want to see it gonk It's too bad jigsaw isnt your project, it is great. XD I'd want credit for it too! This Event has been most interactive because we have many chances to interact. I really like that. It was only a few people who got involved in the last past events (mostly christmas), and this event, everyone gets a chance. heart Also is it absolutely terrible that I adore 11 and 05? I mean, come on. Everyone loves the villians!

	So you're not a Flash developer, you've mentioned you dislike Ajax... so you're a PHP developer maybe? ... not that that narrows anything down with your feature at all xd Yay for surprises! 	I want snacktopia in my room/school. Those are pretty much all the things I would like to snack on during the day = cotton candy and chips. I have been dieing to know what admins/developers are controling each UFO. Or do they take turns with each of them. (I especially want to know who controls 09) burning_eyes . Right now I am editing the beach baithing suit poster/puzzle. I will post it as soon as I finish.

	What, no Mentos and Diet Coke? xd LOL @ Red Vines + Mr. Pibb. That's fun stuff, though I can't say I've had a Mr. Pibb in ages. And I don't like it when the red vine starts melting and getting my drink all cloudy. :XP: Around here, the grocery store brand is "Dr. Aahh" which is more amusing to me than it probably should be. 	Jigsaw IS awesome. I think to balance out Snacktopia, you should add some salad, or at least a few sticks of celery in an icebox or something... Maybe with the chilled drinks? I'm so glad your hair keeps you safe! 09 and Yuzi_K? I thought something to do with a lobster in the GCD was happening as well... was he cheating on one of them? I love the shuffle feature on Jigsaw @_@ It so helps when I've got them all clumped up...

	=O I haven't been to your journal in a while... Yay for aliens! I was hoping for zombies, but the aliens are actually kinda fun. =D I also do agree that it's the most heaviest NPC-involved event I've been too. I haven't been able to play Jigsaw, yet do to my slow internet connection. crying I'm going to have to try it at school sometime. =O Ooooo, wasn't there a past event that had a similar love thing going on as well? Between an NPC and a user? I think that's kinda fun. xd Hehe, too bad your hair didn't totally protect you; look you're an alien! xd Yayness for Snack Topia! I bet if I was working at Gaia; I would've gained 5 more pounds. xp Have you noticed that everything that tastes really good is bad for you?

	Waah! crying Your work is better than mine. Can I live in the closet there? I swear I don't eat much. Seriously though, thanks for the continuous updates! 'specially for those who have been a bit out of it for a few weeks, they're priceless and an excellent source of nutrition .. er, information about what is going on.
