Week Sixteen: Permission to Land Hey everyone! It's been, for me personally, the craziest week at Gaia yet. Sorry for the lateness of the update -- I was indisposed until just now (2:20 PM PST) with our usual random Friday happenings. Where It's At So my uber secret ultra project is almost done. What is it? When will it be out? Why am I asking questions I know the answer to? The real answer is, I don't! It's so secret, that they blindfolded me the entire time I was programming it so I wouldn't know what it was! At the end of the day they hit me in the face with a hammer so I forget everything I'd done. Certainly, the only way to quit this company is by firing squad - for fear that the secret would get loose! rofl Okay, it's not that bad. Not at all. In fact, it may be overhyping it tremendously. But I've been working late, late hours for the last two weeks trying to get this thing launch-ready, and my only hope is that it doesn't fail to disappoint. Whenever we DO release it, I'll be making a special update specifically to explain what we've done. I say "we" because it was a group effort between a few other developers and myself, including AriesBoy571 (of Zombie fame), Darknrgy (after Lanzer, Gaia's first dev), coaster_vn (a new dev working on his first project!), and numerous others who have contributed art, ideas, or encouragement. So that should be coming soon... WATCH OUT! Working Overtime One of the things about being a Gaia dev is that sometimes your project needs special love and attention, like a baby. I mean, the project is, in a way, the baby of all the devs who worked on it (in some sort of weird man-computer-baby hybrid). Sometimes, like a baby, it will lie awake at night and cry, cry, asking for your attention - so you have to stay up late to nurture it and care for it. It can be a lot of work. I've had to stay some nights past 2:30 to try and get things finished on time. But when I see a project coming together so nicely, it's not so bad staying late to work on it. I mean... sure, I don't like being tired, and I certainly don't like having to give up free time for it -- but to see my baby grow up healthy and strong warms my heart blaugh 19? ALIENS! That's right, aliens have been spotted in Gaia. Ads for the Zurg Energy Drink are smattered throughout the site. If you haven't been into Gaia towns lately, I recommend checking out the first zip-code in particular, as they seem to be there more often than anywhere else. And if you see a HUGE shadow fall over town, you may be beneath the mothership... ANYWAY I'm still super busy finishing up my project, so I'm gonna have to cut you all short this week. 	Ah I'm going to give you and all the other members a big thank you for the event so far! The NPC to PC interaction has insreased to another level and thats awesome. I appreciate everything you guys do and look forward to the next suprise. heart

	I FEELZ LOVED!!! Yeah I think you are hyping up yer UBER TOP SECRET project abit... althought it's not AS hyped as the Battle System, Quest, and/or Tatoos. Oh god IF I was to join GAIA's staff, I'd "kill" the "baby" if it woke me up during the middle of the nite. sweatdrop

	Hammers? Hmm...well, at least I know what to expect if I ever get a job at Gaia. At least they aren't stapling your eyes open. =D Or have they!? =O I'd stay away from snacktopia for a few days. They might be putting in stranges things to keep you awake and working. x3 I'm sure your 'baby' will turn out fine. =D And if not we'll just all tell you how great it is even though we hate it and don't use it. Just like Daily Chance! =D I'm kidding, of course. DC = love.

	At least your "baby" doesn't wake you up in the middle of the night >< (I'd be a horrible mother...my cousin was crying one night and woke my aunt up, but I literally slept right through it XD). 	about the whole staying up nights working on projects, that is the reason A) Late night pizza and chinese delivery were invented and B) one of the reasons I got out of Comp Sci as a major, I love messing with computers as a hobby, not a job I found out. Now I stay up late writing Public Relations stuff xd crying thanks for all your hard work, I am sure that no matter what your project is it will generate the 3 common GCD responses I Love It; I Hate It; and Help, Mine Seems to be Broken
