I arrived home to find my older brother, Ivan, standing in the kitchen with dinner on the table. He didn’t seem pleased. I gave him a funny look.
“Hello?”
“Where have you been?” He sneered. I checked my watch again.
“I’m not late back. Am I?”
“No, not really,” he shrugged.” I just wondered where you were.” I cocked an suspicious eyebrow.
“Ok… I was at the beach. That’s all.”
“I see. Who with?”
“Lillia.”
“Oh,” he rolled his eyes. “I should’ve guessed.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Never mind…”
He picked up his dinner and walked into the living room.
“You like her!”
“As a friend!”
“Pfft!”
Grrrrr! He does this all the time! Lillia and I are just friends!

I took my dinner and stomped up to my room. It’s just my brother, he’s always like this. I should let it blow over. But it never does!

My mind switches to another subject when my mobile begins to vibrate in my pocket. I glanced at the screen before pressing the answer button to find out who was ringing.
“Hey Jasex.”
“Astril, hi! ‘You alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine, and you?”
“yeah, I’m good. Listen, What are you up to tomorrow?”
“Erm . . . nothing that I know of. Why?”
“’Cause Tykly and I are gonna go into town and we wondered if you wanted to come.”
“Yeah. That sounds fine!”
“Ok. We’ll come get you at eleven.”
“Sounds good!”
“Ok! Later Astril!”
“Bye.”
I hung up the phone and placed it on my desk. I then sat down and ate my dinner in the silence.
