What's the point of running around wine country when yer underage? Makes me wanna hitchhike overseas and hang out with my cool smoking European cousins where they don't have the law. Not that much, really, just a little. The scenery was quite pretty, though, once you got past the skeletal look of the vines and their support frame, and the fact that some of the were growing around those tall electric wire post thingies. Reason behind the trip was to show Lon (guessing that's how it's spelled) the area. Can't help but wonder if it's not a little nose-thumbing, since I don't know how California fares compared to France wine-wise. I couldn't sample any, but I got to take a whiff, and I don't know if it was the wine or just the wood, but I didn't really want to leave that tasting room, something about the smell of it was just...well, it had me riveted to the spot a couple of time. Only felt that way about a smell at the local church, but it always tended to go away what with the brain ignoring 'useless' things sad

One thing to most definitely remember is the danger of bread. I tried to snap some fossilized baguette for teh Buuny, and now I have a cut that looks like a cat scratched me on my palm. Break it with the white away from you, kiddies. Otherwise it's like scraping the hand over some sort of volcanic rock or razor wire. The fridge is also deadly dangerous as well, apparently. I hecksa got scraped when taking a box of joos out of the fridge door. Angle was off when I was pulling, so I was essentially closing the door as I was lifting, so skin went ouch. Starting to scab and maybe scar and everything. How scary.

I don't like Snow Falling on Cedars. The premise is good, themes of racism are powerful, and the interacial taboo strikes a chord what with me what with having been born, but it's just so hard to read. It's worth in weight in gold in Hollywood-worthy imagery, but I'm more a platinum standard, m'self. "Oh look, see how she's eating a strawberry. Let me go in excruciating detail and hellza slowmo this moment, and pump up the soft light and love bubbles. ISN'T IT ROMANTIC." The fact that I've playing Phoenix Wright makes the court scenes pretty entertaining, though, and I can appreciate all the musings about the sea, what with it being set on an island, if only all the symbolism and scenery wasn't bashing me over the head.
