Sporadic tales of the more exciting/dramatic parts of my life. Will be updated infrequently, but usually with some interesting and/or funny stuff. Drama!
Bad night at work and...a date?!
Sooooo had a bad night at work. I work in a dish room that services hundreds of people in 3 hours. It was hot in there, and I learned something tonight: never ask "how inefficient can so-and-so be?" in the dish room. Tonight I found out. Now, to be fair, my supervisor had to pull double duty because we were short-handed tonight. It's closing time, and I'm trying to get things running quickly from where I am, but it wasn't easy, since I was unloading the dishwasher conveyor belt. So, we're busy, and I'm waiting for stuff to be put on so I have something to do when they come out again, there are pots and pans piled up just waiting to be put on the belt-and what does my supervisor do? He gets an overwhelming urge to take care of the silverware. stare
We didn't get out of there until almost 5 hours after I clocked in. Other nights I barely get 4 hours. So, how inefficient was he, you ask? Well, the worker we were missing, we sometimes refer to her as half a worker, because she isn't useless, she's just kind of slow or inefficient, sort of slow because she's inefficient. Anyway, I think she was there in spirit tonight, and she was there in the form of my supervisor. He was her for the night. 3nodding

Anyway, this guy I knew met me after work when I was getting some gatorade or something from the convenience store, and he suggested we go out to get some coffee. I agreed after a few minutes of him persuading me, and we had a nice time talking. Then he asked if I knew of a good place to go stargazing around here. I suggested a spot out in rural ND that I knew of. {I'm 22 years old. How could I still be so naive?} Anyway, we were eating Wendy's food and talking about random stuff, and then he got just a little too friendly. You know, from friendly, to 'friendlier'? Yeah, I wasn't too comfortable with that, so I said I thought we should go. He said OK, and turned the key in the ignition, and...no engine. I was a little suspicious at first, but quickly realized this wasn't surprised "Oh no, my car won't start/uh-oh, out of gas" crisis, this was eek "oh s***, my car won't start and I don't know why!" Finally figured it out: the car wasn't in park, it was in drive. Most cars won't start in drive. What an eventful night. I get the feeling that I'm gonna be a statistic one day, as much as I tend to trust people...
