Amongst us there are underground facilities called Nuclear Power Laboratories. Seems bad enough that governments around the world are hiding underground nuclear plants underground, right?

    WRONG.

These are not just any nuclear plants. These particular plants do tests. ON HUMANS

This plant, the one found right below Parliament in London, does a specific kind of testing. It tests the physical and mental powers of humans. The scientists working in this plant have created a drug in which they've input atoms that have been, on a molecular level, tampered with in ways thought to be unknown to modern science. They devised a deviant and cunning scheme to switch out the drugs given to those on death row with their "new and improved" drug. So far, only one test subject has survived the great power of the drug. He was taken by the government and put into the nuclear plant for testing and analysis. The drug wiped out his memor and killed nearly all of his brain cells. But soon after, his brain cells started multiplying at ten times the normal rate. The government of U.K. had finally created a superhuman. He grew muscle without being fed, he grew smarter without being access to any information, he grew greater than some of the greatest of men. He had become so great, in fact, that the cell designed to keep anything in, couldn't quite hold him in.

Found Amongst the notes of scientist Milovan Czefch

Every morning when I wake up at precisely 5:00am, I get the tranquilizer gun and go to the cell to shoot our captive test subject. Since October of last year I've been doing just this. He seems so helpless. I look down at him, he opens his eyes, then frowns at me. He always mumbles something that I can never seem to hear right. But no matter what he says, I do my job.

(The next day in Milovan's notes)

Perhaps it was the coffee I had had late the last night, or maybe the golf I had played half the day yesterday. But for whatever reason, I awoke at 5:01. Might seem harmless to someone who would want to wake up early to go to a buddy's house. But for me, it's a totally different story, for he has ESCAPED! Perhaps God himself wanted it to be so. Perhaps he sought the end of humanity itself. Perhaps God had had enough of us. Oh but now I plead: GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS! Our captive took all of our bottles of The Drug. Heaven knows what will happen next. Perhaps this is God's Wrath. NO. This is his revenge.

    (end of notes)

It has been two years since the superhuman escaped. The Drug has been passed throughout the entire world and thousands have died. But many survived The Drug. They demolished nearly every populated area. Although the long term effects of the drug vary, one thing is always the same: death. It's been 2 years, and they, the "Destroyers", are all gone. Few humans have survived. Very few. 1000 of the survivors being scientists that had helped cause the catastrophe. The 10,000 Survivors go on their quest to find every facility and destroy it. Many die of sickness, starvation and thirst within the first month. Not many are left. But they think of themselves as the 300 Spartans. A small number of soldiers fight against a great power in order to save what they cherish.
