Why do you constantly put me down?
Why do you keep looking away when you see me?
Am I not pretty enough for you? Am I not good enough for you?
I’m sorry but I will never be you.
I can’t control and hurt people like you do.
I can’t tell someone how ugly they look, day after day.
You are the reason, I will never open up to you.
If I ever did, you’d throw it right back at my face.
So tell me mom, does this make you happy?
Are you smiling now, mom?
Maybe this will make you proud of me for once.
Because I finally opened myself up for the world to see what’s really inside me.
