Hanging ornaments on the tree
Branches bend and bow to me
Beautiful and as big so far as I can see
But, nothing can compare
To the presents beneath at which we longingly stare
They can only be opened on Christmas morn...so unfair.
Maybe to sneak a peek
At the present which plays with me hide n' seek
A TREACHEROUS game at which it has won this week
I must keep my mind at ease
This next week will be a breeze
I must make sure to avoid the presents I long to seize
On Christmas night, I can open one
But, my gift was not quite so fun...
I opened socks...the parents won.
