• It’s Christmas Eve,
And I try not to slip,
    On the icy surface
Of the ground which I cannot see
It’s dark and very cold tonight
    But nothing can stop me
It’s you I want to see.

    I start the ignition,
    The heat turns on
I back out of my driveway
    Crystal flakes fall
    Onto the paved roads
    But nothing can stop me
It’s you I long to see.

    I’m half way there
    And driving slow
The weather has seemed to worsen
    My windshield wipers
    Are working quickly
    But nothing can stop me
It’s you I have to see.

    Who could have known?
    The black ice was ahead?
It blends in with the road.
Even at the slow speed I went
    My car began to spin
    Out of control.
    Maybe something can stop me
But it’s still you wish to see.

    The car stops working
    It’s smashed up pretty bad
    My head is throbbing
    My arms are aching
    I feel very cold
    Something has stopped me
    It’s you I crave see.

    I realize almost instantly
    I’m lying on the road
Blood has begun to surround me
    I understand I’m dying
    I breathe one final breath.
    Will death stop me?
When it’s you I yearn to see?

    I find myself
    In fields of gold
    The pain has finally ceased
    I got before God
But there’s no need to explain
    Will God stop me?
It’s you I ask to see.

    You stare out into
    The snowy night
    Waiting for me
I walk in front of you
I hold back so many tears
    I finally see you
    But you can’t see me.

I tell you I love you,
Even though you can’t hear me
I stay right by your side
I’ll stay there till the day you die
And we’ll be together in eternity.
In the end nothing stopped me
    It’s you I’ll always see.
