Silver snow petals
Sifting through wispy clouds.
A white Christmas… how quaint.
Am I supposed to feel giddy for presents?
No, I do not.
I feel excited to see the friends,
I have been parted from over the last few months.
Everyone will be home…
I’ll get to see their rosy cheeks,
As I start a snowball fight, mid of caroling.
Their frosty breaths lingering
After tubing down a steep cline.
Their noisy chatter as we all trample in
To share warm cookies, happily, together…
Yes, this holiday. I cannot wait.
Everyone will be together
Laughing to see
Our snowmen, lining the roads
Saluting you, all who want an extra
Holiday cheer as you plow into one, down the road.
These weeks, we will be together again.
Sharing our new experiences. Reminiscing of old.
Creating new memories, strengthening old friendships.
Minus the off-key carolers,
Joking, smiling, laughing together like old times.
Happy Christmas fellow citizens!!
