• The wind pierced her face, the thorns stabbed at her legs, the sky snickered and snared at her, her long black hair was tangled, her heart raced along with her legs as she ran, and ran, away from the horrible blood pool, something was after her, something that smelled her pure blood, something horrible, something with fangs, and killed whoever got in it's way.
The leaves swayed in the wind, gently falling to the ground, the sun beat down on the world, the breezed chilled the air, everything was at peace, except Annie's heart, and the thing after her. twisted

The twisted branches cast shadows on the ground making pictures that looked like monsters, so Annie couldn't stop running, not until she knew she was safe. Suddenly, Annie heard a yowl but didn't dare glance behind her, afraid that if she did, she wouldn't return home.

Hoping that this was just a dream, Annie raced over the hill, to her surprise, what she saw was a shear drop off, and rocky leg, leading down to a rock-bottom river, Annie took a deep breath knowing that if she wasted any more time, the beast would get her, but if she went forward, she would risk falling and dying, Annie breathed in, swiftly ran forward, took the last step, summoning up the last of her strength, and soared through the air, Annie's heart stopped as she realized, that she didn't make it to the other side. Annie opened her eyes to see that she was hanging on a branch that was hanging from a rock on the other side, Annie knew that one false move, would cause the rock to move, and the branch would fall to her watery death.
Annie's greatest fear happened, the monster had made it to the other side, and now had his huge, ugly and hairy foot on the rock that held the branch, but what Annie thought, did not happen, but it turned for the worst, the monster did not push the rock off, but instead was reaching down, and trying to kill her in his massive jaws, it's either die in his piercingly sharp teeth, or take the risk of maybe survivng the fall into the water.... Annie decided that she would have to jump, she would have to let go, wheter or not she would survive, she didn't know, but one thing she did know, if she held on, she would surely die.

Finger, by finger, she let go of the branch, with each finger, her heart beat faster, her hair flew upward, as she plumeted down the steep cliff, into the river, Annie's eyes felt the warm water all aroung them, as Annie, opened her mouth, she tasted the salty tang of blood, Annie instinctively swam upward towards the surface, Annie grasped onto a rock sticking up from the stream, as Annie's eyes ajusted to the water, she stared in horror at what lay above her, there, on the cliff wall, lay pierced through the heart, the giagantic beast, it's blood drizzling down into the river, Annie let out a screem, and floated down the river, towards shore, and she headed safely home.
