• Chapter 1

    Ice Titian and Magic Doll

Yokai Academy is private school for monsters. Over the past few years, the danger from the academy has increase from the average level. Rumors started to surface that a human being had been enrolled by mistake. Another has also appeared that, the same exact human defeated the school’s student police force. Clearly, that would be impossible for a mere human to do. Therefore, that fact was no longer valid. All investigations have slowed to a halt. Since there was no solid evidence of a human enrolled at the school the cases are closed.

I, on the other hand, think that it could be very possible that it could happen. It does seem very unlikely that a human could be on the school’s grounds. I will be transferred to the academy tomorrow. This should disprove any fact that a human is on the school grounds. My newly appointed partner is coming with me to survey the area. We leave at ten in the morning.

A young man closed his journal and sets his pen aside. He begins to yawn and stretches his arms out. The black sleeves of his pajamas fall slightly as he stretched. He left his desk and walked slowly to his bed on the other side of the room. Yawning again, his light blue hair fell before his eyes. He combed it back showing his deep blue hues. He took the lollipop, from his mouth, placing it in a small glass of water by his bed. Lying down on the bed he looked at the glass as the water began to freeze. He yawned again and turned the light on the night stand off. With a final yawn from his mouth he went to sleep. The night air became colder and moist as well. The night was fairly long.

“Master Rinmi,” A synthesized feminine voice said softly, “Master it’s time to wake up. Master, please wake up.” The voice sighed and foot steps were heard walking away.

The young man groaned as his eyes gently opened to the light of day. Glancing at the clock on his nightstand, he sighed. The young man started to rub his eyes gently as he got out of his bed. “Chachamaru-san! How long until our bus leaves?” he called out as he took his lollipop out of the glass. Only to put it back in his mouth. His southern accent was clear as day. He looked at the neatly folded uniform on the chair near the desk. He started putting on the navy blue police uniform. It fit him very well. He always kept the top unbuttened to show the black shirt underneath.

A tall young lady entered the room. Her light green hair shifted from side to side as she brought a tray of a single coffee and a muffin. Her robotic ears were shown as she sat down on the bed next to Rinmi’s. “The bus will depart in less than an hour, Master.” She gave a faint smile and blush as she began to make the coffee to Rinmi’s tastes. “To be more precise it will leave in about forty-five minutes, master Rinmi.” He voice had a clear English accent to it. Chachamaru, being as she was, had already been dressed in her police uniform. It was almost the same to Rinmi’s, but there were some differences compared to his. One being an air vent on the back of the neck, the other was the fact that her uniform had shorter sleeves than his.

Rinmi sighed as he was liening to Chachamaru’s answer. He looked over at his coffee and the muffin. Being to drink his coffee, he smiled looking at Chachamaru. “You did a good job on making my coffee. “You have really improved, since I reactivated you.” He noticed that Chachamaru’s face was stating to heat up. He could tell that her systems might have been over heating. He sat next to her and pressed his forehead to hers. Chachamaru’s cheeks began to turn a deep red. He knew then that she was just blushing. “Sorry, about that. I keep forgetting that you have emotions.” He pulled away a little and gave a smile.

Chachamaru looked away as Rinmi pulled away. Even if she a magic puppet she was installed with emotions. She sighed and turned to him, “Master Rinmi, is this unit vital to your needs? Does this unit make you in high spirits? Is this unit an inconvenience?” She covered her face with her hands. She open her fingers just enough to look at Rinmi. She knew that she was feeling depressed and for some reason happiness. Knowing that they could never be, she sighed. Logically it would be wrong for her to tell him her feelings. It even felt wrong to think it as well. She wondered if he had any feeling for her. Taking a deep breath she removed her hands. Lens fluid started to leak from her eyes.

The room was silent for a short while. Rinmi took out a tissue and wiped Chachamaru’s cheeks. He smiled at her. He gently held her by the waist and looked at her. “You are vital to me. And yes, you do make me happy.” He stopped and thought about her last questioned, thinking it was the important one. “ You will never be a inconvenience to me.” He looked at her as she was still blushing. Thinking for a little while, he smiled, “ You know Chachamaru, I think of you as a close friend. Although, your just a Ministra Magi…. Or rather a mechanical doll.” He waited as she looked to him. He felt a bit sorry knowing she might leek again, “I can still love you like a girlfriend.“ He smiled looking at her as she seemed to calm down a little

Chachamaru sighed as she knew he was trying to cheer her up, “Thank you, Master. You are ever so compassionate to me.” She looked at the clock seeing they needed to go soon. “Master, we must depart for the bus now.” She gave a smile as she got their luggage. She left some of his to carry, mostly because it was stuff that was personal to him. She looked to the workshop as she passed it, sighing knowing it was only a few months since she was there.

Rinmi sighed as he tossed on his coat and ran after Chachamaru to the door of their small home. He came up to her as she set their things down in the snow. The landscape was harsh looking. Seeing as Rinmi was a snow demon , it was only normal to here. The bus stop was relatively chilling. They waited for the bus to come as it was running late. Although when it did arrive Chachamaru brought everything in, including Rinmi who fell asleep waiting.
