• Sarah O'Riley sat down on the table in the privite suite of "High Stakes Resturaunt". The television was set to the local news station, and her waitress would be there soon to take her order. As the waitress came to take Sarah's order, the news suddenly flashed over to "Highland Park Race Track" and the horse race was about to start. This wasn't just any horse race, it was the "Race of a Lifetime Derby". Every year, young thoroughbred horses who had never lost a race was allowed to try out for this race. Then, they would have elimination races between two or three horses at a time, untill there were only ten horses left. The top ten horses would then prepare for this race, and whoever won would go in the Hall of Fame, and the owner, trainer, and jockey, would all split the ten-million dollar cash prize. Sarah and the waitress watched anxiously as the horses were loaded up. The bell rang, and the gates opened. The horses were off. Quickly the horses were at full speed. As they went around the first turn, Flamewalker was in front, followed by American Dream and Finder's Keepers. Soon, they were racing around on the backstretch. Firewalker began to fall back, and American Dream was in the lead, closely followed by Finder's Keepers. As they ran aroundd the final turn, Finder's Keepers came up from the outside, and passed American Dream. The crowed was cheering. American Dream was gaining, and the two horses were neck and neck. Finally, they crossed the finish line. It was a photo finish. "Wow, some race, eh?" asked the waitress, then turning to take Sarah's order. "Yea," Replied Sarah, "I've never seen Finder's Keepers run so hard. I don't want anything yet, i'm to nervous." "Why would you be nervous?" asked the waitress, and then she covered her mouth, it had slipped out. Sarah laughed. "I'm nervous because I might have just won ten-million dollars" "You own Finder's Keepers?" asked the waitress, taken aback by suprise. Once again, sarah laughed. "I bought Finder's Keepers when she was just a filly. I saw the black filly, and no one wanted her. They all thought she wouldn't be any good for racing, but I had faith in her. That's why her barn name is faith." "Oh wow," said the waitress, "What's she like?" "She's the sweetest thing in the world, with a bit of an attitude when she's hungry." Sarah laughed. "She's a character all right." Just then, the announcer broke in. "The official winner of this race, is Finder's Keepers!" Sarah immediatly jumped up and screamed. The waitress screamed with her, and they cheered immensly. Finally they both settled down, and the waitress finally asked, "Ok miss new millionaire, may I have the honor of taking your order?"
