• It was a stunning day in the spring and everything in sight was beautiful as ever, the flowers, the butterflies, and (of coarse) the young lovers seen all around. The two who seemed the most stunning were Aleksandera and William. Oh how they had loved each other for so long. Aleksandera was young but very pretty and smart, she was 15 and had long brown hair and deep brown eyes that simply glittered in the autumn. William was a handsome young man, 16 and a half very tall with grey eyes that were just an amazing sight and hair black as ebony and very charming, he was very popular with the women his age but he had no liking to them.
He had fallen in love with Aleksandera when his friend, Thomas Ferrier, had introduced them. She also had grown a liking to him as he was shy and very handsome. They had become great friends and helped each other when sad times were upon them. They soon knew about each others likings and had decided to be together, and ever since then you never would have seen a love so strong.
They were on a walk, on that beautiful day in the spring, and William began, "Aleksandera, I have been, selected to fight in the war. I know that you hate the idea of it, but i have no choice my dear." Looking at him horrified Aleksandera replied, "Oh my dear William, you musn't! William if I were to lose you I would have nothing! Oh my dear please, I beg of you, don't go!" They continued to walk as the young man explained "My love, I havn't a choice, I havn't any money to get out of this and soldiers out in battle are becoming scarce, and if the enemy were to come any closer the risk of losing you would become too great to bear. You see my darling, I am fighting for you, for your safety, so that you and I can stay together." At that moment he took Aleksandera in his arms and kissed her knowing that perhaps it would be his last for some time to come. Blushing terribly, Aleksandera put her arms around Williams neck hoping that the moment would never end. William then released her and smiled, then they began to walk again.
They went down to a beautiful garden with a fountain in the center they sat down on its wall and taking his lover back in his arms William handed her a rose and said this, "Oh Aleksandera my darling, once this is all over and I come back, will you marry me?" Extatic and touched, Aleksandera had tears forming in her eyes, she then put her face up against Williams chest and said, "Oh william I do!" They stayed like that for awhile in each others arms smiling dreaming of their live to be, a life together for the rest of their lives. Then Aleksandera smiled up at William and kissed him, staying there, creating a passionate romantic moment, but also a sad moment, for the next day would be the day her lover would leave her to go off to war.
A few months later, Aleksandera was back in school and had been writing to her William when ever an opprotunity came up, which was very often as her school work was very easy to her and she always finished her work in class, they had talked about thier lives and their life soon to be as news came from all around that the war would soon come to an end, and happily as well for England was winning. William had said to her that he had missed her and that he couldn't wait to see her in her mothers wedding dress, walking down the isle to have them joined together in marrige. She too was anxious to finally be with her beloved William, thats all she would think was: William, William, William. Unfortunatly William was forced to discontinue writing to Aleksandera, making them worry about each other more than ever. A month dragged on.
Then one Sunday, Aleksandera was having breakfast with her class mates and talking of dresses and men when the headmaster began to call up the students to receive their mail. Aleksandera, upset by this time of day, let her head droop a little as she was called up to take her mail. There were several letters from her Aunt, her mother, her brother in germany, but there was another, and her face completely lit up, it was from the camp William had been sent to! She told her friends and quickly tore open the letter and began to read with a happy look on her face. But as she read on her smile began to fade. and soon her smile was replaced with tears and sobbs. Her friend, confused, took up the letter and gasped. Attempting to comfort her she stroked Aleksanderas back.
As you might be wondering, during one of the battles he had fought, William had been fataly injured. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but the doctor could not save him. His dying words were spoken to his friend Thomas and Thomas only. When Thomas had come back to his home town, where he Aleksandera and William lived, he went straight to Aleksanderas house and wished to speak with her. When she saw her best friend standing in the door she cried, "Oh Thomas it's been so long!" and Thomas replied, "Yes it has, Alex I have somthing to tell you, would you go on a walk with me?"
So they left and they went to the exact garden that Aleksandera and William had gone to. Looking very sad Aleksandera said, "This place brings such sad memories... Why did you choose to bring me here?" Thomas sat her down on the fountain wall and sat down himself, "You see Aleksandera, I brought you here because, before he died, William told me somthing that you must know." Confused, she then asked, "Tom what do you mean?" Then it came, "You see Aleksandera, William told me to look after you and tell you that he loves you, more than anything in the world. And that he fought, and still fights only for you." then he pulled out a rose and handed it to her. Aleksandera took it and watched as one of its petals fell into the fountain. At that moment she could not bear it anylonger and fell into Thomas' arms crying, Thomas, hoping to comfort her, put his arms around his best friend and said, "Its going to be alright, I promise..." and he held her tighter.
