• There's nothing to do in a waiting room except WAIT. The TV's on, dimly heard, not that anyone really cares about what's on. You can count the tiles, the floorboards, ponder the origin of every crack in the ceiling. Practice your poker face, wonder about the lives of the staff, count the people that come in and out and try to figure out how they ended up here. Try to sleep, try not to fall under slumber's spell, try to name every country you know in alphabetical order, try to stop jittering. Try not to think about what could happen.

Try not to fall into a state of hysteria.

But in the end, all you're really doing is playing the waiting game.
