• As I take one last drag of my cigarette
and flick it onto the moist ground
coal on the end slowly burns out
faint smoke rises into the fresh air

I prop my collar on my long black jacket
adjust my zipper to keep me warm
place my icicle cold hands into my pockets
as I walk the sidewalk stepping over every puddle

Fog covers the town and my vision is a blur
my mind plays tricks on me
was that you who past me just a moment ago
that scent, so worth remembering, I could never forget

I look behind me and see nothing but a faint shadow
I wanted to yell your name, but no words came out
    I know it was you
    I know that walk

For it's been forever since I've looked into your eyes
Forever since I've kissed those tender lips
Feels like a lifetime since I've heard your voice tremble through my ears
    Eternity since we've been us

    I light up another smoke
I inhale deep into my lungs, slowly releasing
As the smoke escapes my mouth, it clouds over my eyes
Each drag is the cure to my never ending stress of your disappearance

    I arrive at my apartment
Placing the golden teeth of the end through the door lock
I open the door to emptiness
I feel like I just opened the door to my heart
