The little things and how they matter...
this is where you'll probably find the nonsense from the guy with his head in the clouds...
A Twist of Fate! Victory in Defeat!
Well, as many of you may or may not know, I'm something of a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game. I'm not exactly a serious gamer when it comes to it though. I mean that I only play it once in a while. Today I went to the Shonen Jump Championship. Of course, I didn't know how well I would do because I'd only really played games against my brother, and I've lost to him many times. Today yielded many surprises for me. First, There were at least 400 people there to play. I could tell because there were more than 200 seating tags where two people would sit to play.
Me and my brother almost didn't get to compete because we had to pay a twenty dollar entrance fee (per person) and they didn't take credit or debit (despite many of the staff members saying that credit and debit was acceptable). And that proved to be a problem because the ATM was acting up. It turned out that the reason for that was that the $2000 stored in the machine was withdrawn by all of the players sweatdrop . But we lucked out because my brother complained about this to one of the staff members, who turned out to be the head judge of the competition, and he guaranteed us a spot.
So after they finished telling us the rules and setting up the first round, Everything started. However, that's when my first bit of luck kicked in. While on my way to see who my opponent was, I found a card that turned out to be worth $40. I eventually managed to sell it for $30 (nobody was willing to pay full price). But in getting that kind of luck, I had a strange kind of bad luck. I wound up losing every match I played in (6 matches before I dropped out. there were 9 total at 40 minutes a match).
Of course, my losing streak didn't go unrewarded xd . My last opponent was a guy who had almost lost the match because somebody placed him at the wrong table. He turned out to be a pretty nice guy, and a pretty gruesome player. He had a huge stack of cards that had been put together the night before. And he still beat me amazingly sweatdrop . The guy was really generous. He had first offered to give me a card that would help me out if I won, and even though I lost, he still gave it to me along with two others. And the card he gave me turned out to be a very rare card that is worth $30.
And so, even though I had a brutal losing streak today, I got pretty lucky today 3nodding . It just goes to show that sometimes there's a good thing between the bad.

And you got to make some cash along the way. Nice.

I used to play that card game when I was in high school. The problem with these games is they tend to get less fun after too many new cards come out. If this is legal in tournaments, try combining the "Myserious puppeteer", "gearfried the iron knight" and "butterfly dagger elma". My friend was the guy who invented that combo. xd
