Time past by so quickly! We were already in 5th grade! It was almost Jake's birthday, and I couldn't wait to give him his present. I spent nearly all my money that I saved for a few months. But the weird thing was, during his pool party, he was looking hurt and sad. I went over him and asked what was wrong. "Hey, what's the matter?" He replied by dragging me out of the party. "Hey! That hurt!" I said, rubbing my arm. "Look, I need to ask something ok?" he asked, with a worried face. "Umm, ok," I replied. He took a breath and asked, "Will you remember me if I moved away somewhere forever?" I looked like he was cuckoo. "Of course I will! What are you thinking?" I said, laughing. But I stopped and asked in a nervous tone, "Wait, you're not leaving me are you?" He looked at me for a moment, and did something. He hugged me. Usually, he does this, but this one felt different. Warm and loving. I hugged him back, thinking what were we doing. I could swear, I thought I felt water rushing down my bare back. (It was a pool party! What did you expect?) "I promise, I would never leave you,Sky."After that, he took my hand, and we both ran to the pool. We ran and jumped in, shouting, "CANNONBALL!"
It took about two hours for everyone to go home. I stayed back though, hiding in the bushes. My mom didn't know; she wouldn't care anyway. I walked inside his garage, waiting to surprise him with my present. Then, I heard arguing. I hid behind one of his dad's cars. "Mom! I can't do it! How about Sky?" Jake shouted. "I gave you what you wanted already! Pool party, video games, and other stuff! Time to leave!" his mom shouted back. "NO! I WON'T LEAVE HER!" he screamed. What was going on? Where is he going? "Your dad is waiting at the airport! Get your butt in the car!" his mom screamed, at the top of her lungs. I saw the whole scene with my eyes. Jake's mom dragging Jake in the car, mumbling something about going to Florida, and going back into the house to get something. Everything was going by so fast. Flashbacks were in my head. Tears filling up my eyes. He's going to Florida?? Why? When his mom finally got out of the house and into the car, I got up to my feet. His present slipped through my hands. I brushed away my tears as she was backing up the car. I ran to the car, pounding my hands on it. "JAKE MOUD! YOU BROKE YOUR PROMISE! GET OUT OF THIS CAR RIGHT NOW! GET OUT!" This was the first time I ever cried in my whole life. I was like a water fountain pounding on the car. When the car left the driveway, I chased after it. I saw Jake's face against the window. He was struggling to opened the door, but his mom locked it. The only thing he could do was roll down his window. The only thing he could say was, "I love you," Blackness covered my eyes. I collapsed. I wanted to die. He was gone. Forever...
