"Wife," she said, and my heart sank. He had found another to fill his emptiness, whilst my being still yearns for him, still loves him, still needs him...
"Oh..." I replied, "I am pleased to meet you..."
I wanted to disappear, to fade away into non-existance... but I had to see him... I needed to see his face, hear his voice, to be in his presence. I must see him happy, so to ensure that I am no longer worth anything.

When he appeared, I had felt a sense of joy and dispair. He was as handsome as he was when my heart first pounded for him. Yet, he did not acknowledge my presence. He did not bother to even say a kind word of look my way.
The ignorance was as piercing to my heart as a poisoned knife, in which I wished to have such a weapon jabbed into my chest.
Nothing was said.
No attempts were made.
I just smiled with woe, and held back the tears that taunted my eyes.
I had seen him, for what seemed like eternity since our separation, I finally had seen him.
